I usually shop in the morning every week end or any day which my schedules are not tight. I prefer to buy early in order for me to bear the scorching heat of the sun, which usually hits in the afternoon. I usually do my grocery shopping at half past the time that the store opens and I like shopping at this time because the merchandise on display is still on the proper place and not yet disarray by others shoppers goers. Thus, I prefer to buy in the morning as the sales clerks is not yet tired and they could attend fully to my assistance in guiding me the best products on hand. While, I usually avoid shopping during the rush hours as I hate the long lines of queuing and most of the products is display is already mixed up from the tired and late buyers during the day. How about you, What time of the day you usually shop? Kindly shares your thoughts. Thanks.

I don't have a particular time to shop. I would like to shop whenever I find time. If it is a weekday, of course, I will shop once I am done with my office work. So, the shopping will be at night. But, I don't go for a big shopping at night because shops will be closed by 9 pm and I don't get enough time to see things and select. If I go for shopping during weekends, I go in the evenings. I would like to sleep in on weekends and be lazy all during the day.

hi daliaj, yeah, some shopper feel more convenient to shop at any time they are on the moods and if they have immediate need to purchases. Almost all office workers do their shopping after work hours is done and thus it would only be the time for them to stroll around the mall, besides from grocery shopping they would also visit their favorites food court to eat then do window shopping at the same time. Well, that is also a good schedules as you could really do your shopping when your mind is not tired and not into rushing to mix with the crowds. thanks

I don't have a designated day to shop. I shop whenever I have time. I try to limit it to one trip per week, and sometimes I can go two weeks without grocery shopping. But I like to go at an off time if I can when it is not so crowded...Sat. in the mid-afternoon is usually a good time, or weekday evenings (except Friday).

hi irene, Well,i myself shop twice a month where i already have a list of all the items which i like to purchases, Then it also calculate the estimated cost so that my money would be enough to buy all the basic need and the rest goes to the unimportant needs. Sometimes, I go to the mall not to shop but to go for window shopping then have to find a store where I could buy the cheaper item and when the end of every month or every 15th or 30th of the month when i already have the money. I would buy all the item which I like. Well,in your cases you are right the scheduled time you select every afternoon of Saturday is also a good time to shop then every Friday afternoon i also see a lot of shoppers doing their shopping after their office works is finish. thanks..

hi margieanneart, Yup, some people really set no shopping tome and they go as long as they are on the mood. Then, all have their own plan before deciding to shop so that when they reach the shopping mall they already have the ideas which item to buy and they would never need to think as they may purchase the worn item, especially if their are a lot of crowds then the surrounding is noisy one could not concentrate to find what is needed as the attention shift to other items in display. Then, before you already finish your purchases their a lot of queuing which could be annoying then have to mix with a lot of noisy crowds who are also rushing to finish their shopping.thanks..

I do not really have a choice but to shop only after office or during weekends. Most of the time, if I have to finish some work at the office, I am no longer able to go to the mall even if I wanted to buy something because they are already close. Good thing that the supermarkets close a little bit later so I am still able to buy my groceries. I also do not get to linger in the aisles that long since the supermarket will be closing soon. I just grab all the things that I need then head to the cashier. It's also good since I don't get to spend more than my budget. With regards to clothes, I only buy when I really need it, I don't get to window shop anymore so at least I don't get tempted to buy more clothes

hi silverglint, Yeah, most of the people who are employed have the same reply and I understand they are busy during the weekdays and have no time to shop. They could only buy during weekdays as it is their off from their jobs. Just like you do I shop most of the times buying basic needs which is necessary for consumption for the next week food stock, like purchasing fresh meat, vegetables and fruits. In terms of buying clothes I do shop in the surplus store for casual clothes which I normally wear in informal days while expensive clothing I buy twice a month depending on the need if i am going to use it on a party or in an office gathering. thanks

I show in the evening. Don't know why, but I just never feel like going until after noon. Perhaps I was conditioned to go later on in the day. I used to bug my folks to take me to the electronics store so I could get a new video game, and they would procrastinate in hopes that I'd forget. I never forgot, and they eventually snatched me by the neck, tossed me in the car, and drove. Okay, it wasn't by the neck. I should really stop exaggerating like that. Some people tend to read my comments of communities like this and take everything I say way to serious. My folks never grabbed me by the neck. I was a chubby kid. I'm sure they look for the neck, but they definitely couldn't find it.

hi cbjones, lol..that is very funny and i think your parents would never do it to you. Anyway, you are condition to shop during evening as you may find it more cooler to shop after you already have taken your rest on the morning and afternoon. As some are busy during morning and have no time to shop. Well, you been good to your parents and they would give you what you ask for as long as they could afford it. You still have neck i presume as if none then you would never able to do mylotting. just kidding. Anyway enjoy shopping and don't eat much. thanks.

yeah..much cooler and also it's the time you already finish your chores... and that may also be time you meet with friends... well, if you do it in the morning you could also be expose to the sun before going to the mall... as for me whatever time I am free and I am always on the go and morning shop is my choice if I am really vying to buy a certain targeted item before others shoppers get it I like to be the first one to get it....

hi kun, yeah, shopping time would depend on each individual preferences as in your case it is only the available time you are free. late shopping is nice if you are not on the rush and if you only purchase small item would not really feel pressure... me too and I do shop when it is truly need even during rush hours as i have no choice...

hi rucrazy, yup, same with me I have plenty of time to do my shopping every weekend and I stay even for more than 10 hours as I do my shopping, eating on the foodcourt at the same time watching the latest movies in town. That the best way to unwind and relax after a weekday work.thanks

It depends on what I'm buying. I tend to go grocery shopping after work so that will be either about 4pm or 10pm. For other items I prefer either early morning or late afternoon when the shops tend to be a little quieter.

hi wizzywig, Yeah, most employees also shop at the hours after work or during lunch for item which they badly needed and would do the same thins which you mention. Early morning is the best time to shop, especially if you are eyeing a dress then would like to be the first one to get or avail of sale which is a good things as you could save a lot.

Hey neelianoscet! I think that you are a smart shopper! Going in the morning is the smart thing to do! I don't do grocery shopping very often. I try to go once of twice a month so I do my big grocery shopping and I don't usually go at the right times ever! I end up going when the store is crowed and then I get all upset because I can't stand crowds because I can't get to the things that I need! I don't have a car so that is usually the reason I don't go that often because I need to take a taxi home and it is expense. So I try to make one big trip a month if possible.

hi opal, Yeah, that is the most convenient time for me and I do all my purchases every weekend of the basic needs which are consumable for almost two weeks. After my shopping is over I hurriedly go home where i could arrange all the items i purchase then have to cook after all have eaten. Then, it is now the time for me to take a nap in my room. Thus, it is my practices that i could have time pamper myself and relax my body after a period of working every weekdays. Then, on the next day my other purposes in going to the mall is not only for the sake of shopping at the same time have to visit my favorite beauty salon to have my hair trim or have a feet massage. Well, in your case that is a good things to plan ahead your schedule shopping and since you do it once a month. It could mean a lot of saving especially in terms of transportation fare. That is a good techniques which one purchases complete at one time only.

I usually love shopping sprees between say noon time to evening time. I am not much of a morning shopper. But I must say that I am quite a shopping freak or shopaholic and truly guilty of it. I am trying hard to control. I guess not shopping in the morning is a good start towards this goal ;)

Hey Neelianoscet! You are right! But with me it has so happened that I often overdo shopping even I don't have the money. I may do it on credit, and then I have to kind of really really slog it out to make up for the bills. But yeah you can say I never do so much of overshopping, so as to go completely bankrupt. I quit and take a break whenever my current credit outstanding reaches $200 to $250.

hi arnica, if that's the case then you are a certified shopcoholic... I rarely, uses credit card as it is very pricey... one need to pay the monthly dues accumulated or if you fail their would be additional penalty...

28 Oct 09
hi arnica, Well, shopping time is dependent on your free time and whatever time you find it convenient. being shopcoholic is not a sin especially if you never over do it and just buy the things which you needed. Thus, you may choose either morning, afternoon or evening as long as you assure yourself have enough money just to make sense.it within yourself then it would be alright.thanks

hi keola, well, it is also good to shop at noon if you are been busy during morning and afternoon as it may be the only time you are free from your working schedules. Yeah, those stores you mention are good choice and they have been like a one stop shop as almost of the item you need to purchases could be find on those stores. Some prefer to shop during morning especially during weekends like Saturday or Sunday where their is no work as one could roam in the shopping mall doing a lot of things not just buying of groceries. thanks..

hello neelia! i usually go to grocery every its either tuesday or wednesday afternoon...no, before lunch. because what we do is my husband & i eat lunch together in there before doing the grocery... and i also like that time for grocery coz most of the time, during those hours, stocks are already replenished & its not yet a rush hour... while for meats & veggies, i like going to market in the afternoon, about 4 pm...for the same reason that there are more fresh meat & fishes at that time as well as veggies (atleast here in my place where i am living now) but in my town before, we used to go to market early in the morning coz that's the best time to go to market in our place...

When I am in Manila too have to go to the market earlier as the fresh veggies, fish and meats are usually found in the morning you could be assure that is still fresh quality... and you could also bought those things a t a reduce price.. unlike in the shopping mall where the price is fixed... hi misterwit, glad to see you again...

yes, in Manila i guess mornings is the best time to go to the market...but from where i am now, i guess its afternoon...haha coz more fish is delivered in the market at noontime & they are more fresh... well, public market is always better when it comes to freshness & prices for we can always ask for a discount to the vendors specially when we are already their regular buyers... but with groceries, i still go to supermarkets...

Im just like you, i prefeer shop when i got the time, and attempting to do it out of the rush hour times, which here is somewhere between 3-6PM. I dont have any specific days when i shop, i just take the bike to the supermarket when im missing an item. Then during weekend or evenings when most are having thier dinner I go shopping with my boyfriend in the car for the more heavy and bigger things.
• Philippines
28 Oct 09
hi downwindz, yeah, that is the better way to avoid the queuing and with less distraction from fellow buyers. Well, you could always buy what you like especially if you are not on the rush such as sort of short item and that great you use a bicycle for shorted distance it may be possible. It is also a good things as your BF is always on your side to help you, especially in buying heavy item you really need a man to assist you such as he would need to carry heavy things for you. thanks again..

hi downwindz, wow..you're such a lucky gal.. your boyfriend is really a great help... yeah, that the right attitude girl... you need to identify your need so that when you come to the store, all you have to do is to pick up the item which you badly needed and that saves a time... have a great day!

He will certainly carry all the heavy items for me, as we earlier concluded his a lovely gentleman. But he prefeers i know what i need for shopping so it doesnt take ages, and then when i go myself it is easier spending the time going through the whole shop and also get an idea of which items i need, or which could be interesting to use in the future. I happens about once a week i dont know what to cook for dinner, and then i go through the supermarket until something appeals me.

I usually shop at night because I always wait for my husband to come home from work. I have not driven a car for quite some time now, but I think I must start driving back because I am missing a lot of fun things if I can't go anywhere. It happens that for the time being my husband's motorbike is at my mom's house and we haven't had the time to take it to our own home, so we only have one vehicle and my husband is driving the car to work. That's why I have to wait for him before I go shop. If I want to buy just a few items I would just walk to the mini market nearby. But things there are mostly more expensive than those at the hypermarket so I just go there if it was very needed. You're always welcome, and happy mylotting!

hi ladysurvivor, That really nice as you could shop together with your husband and he could help you carry all those shopping bags. Although, morning shopping is the best when done during morning to avoid the rush hours. thanks for sharing.

I usually shop at night because the grocery store where I shop from is on my way home from church. It's just so convenient. I shop on Wednesday Nights on my way home from midweek bible study. It's funny, in a way, because I always see other people in there I know from church, lol. I was talking to one of our deacons about this one time and he said it's our gathering place after church, lol. If I don't get a chance to go to worship that night or if I forget my checkbook or whatever, I just go to a grocery store that's closer to where I live the next day. The other one is about 10 miles north of here. Kathy.

hi kathy, That is a good things having to combine worship with the same day you do your own shopping. It is like a having two important purposes done at the same day. As nothing beat having done your bible study before shopping as it is more important than all the other task. So it is a wonderful things that most of your sis and bro in the same faith as you find the grocery store feel convenient to do their own shopping. Though, you could extend some chatting with your friends without neglect with your own faith. whew, that is fast and for almost 30 minutes you already finish your shopping and those times is also the off peak hours where most stores have to close after 10 pm. thanks

Though, it is a good things to stroll along the different unit stores as you could compare the branded to the cheaper item at hand and do a lot of research to the prices of the item you likely plan to buy. have a nice day!thanks for sharing.

Well, other too have the same ideas as anyway it does not matter as long as you have the ideas which item to buy to avoid confusion in going to the mall as having list of your needs you have a tendency to by them all without forgetting other item. then the listing could also help on getting the things you need and finish your shopping as quick as possible to avoid ramming with the busy crowds..
