What makes facebook different?

What do you think makes facebook different from other social networking sites? There are loads of other sites just as good, but what do you think makes facebook different, and keeps it a league above the rest? Is it the pictures? Is it the interface? The user-friendliness? (if thats a word lol)

Hello,
I don't know the answer. Personally I don't enjoy Facebook a lot, there are too much games and applications...suppose that is fun for some people, for me it is a little bit boring and I waste a lot of time just to clean my home page.
May be this one is a positive difference.

Lol. I suppose that is true. Facebook is quite complicated too. At one point of time my facebook notifications were all spam and I was like "what?!". I spent alot time cleaning up stuff on my profile.
