Profiles of the deceased, memorial or creepy?

Facebook will be keeping profiles of the deceased and changing some of the features for instance so you cannot log into it and I believe they can only be viewed by current friends or people who specifically search for them. Do you think this is a good thing or does it creep you out? Would you want a deceased relative or friend to have a current searchable profile.... or would you want YOURS available after you die?

Ugh... I've seen to many of them and I think they are kind of creepy. It's even wierder when i see people posting stuff about how they miss that person. If you want to show your respects go to a cemetary and pay them in the correct way. But thats just my opinion :)

The problem with this is not everybody is buried, and not everybody is buried in a place that can be visited... and then you have geographical distance if it's a childhood friend and you moved 1200 miles away, etc. Sorry for the run-on but this is one reason for virtual memorial. I still think it's kind of creepy and definitely feel there needs to be some type of restriction.

.. howdy. i dont think it is a 'bad' idea... sort of keeping a 'history' of someone... we usually keep photos and whatnots of the deceased.. why not their FB Profile.. and since it is only open to their current friends, and people who know them personally.. i think it is a 'good' way of keeping them in our memory.. i dont mind if mine is still available after i die - my now young children will be able to see / share the things that i wrote, when they are bit older - and maybe share them with their own young ones...

After I am gone it won't matter much to me if people can find my stuff on the internet or not As for others, I can see where it might be a good thing to keep the account searchable for a period of time. How long a time is debateable
