Do you shop in second hand stores like thrift stores or goodwill and yard sales? Why are some of the great deals you've gotten at places like this?

You can always find a lot of Yard Sales around, and Good Will is also very popular, and I do like going to Yard Sales because you never know what you might find at Good Will since there are a lot of things at good prices, and me and my wife have gone to Good Will a couple times, and one time we bought a keyboard because we needed one for our old laptop even though it broke completely so we got rid of it,and now we have a new laptop which works even better, and we always try to donate stuff we do not need to Good Will and I think they have some of the best deals because they are trying to help people not make a lot of money like other places, including Wal Mart who has good prices but are just trying to extend the bottom line which is the mighty dollar.

Hi, I remembered when I was still single, my Father always tags me along an Avenue long to chec ksome thrift items or seconds hand items. Some of our stuffs were bought from thrift stores. I love reading seconds hand books, though. But I'm not much into antique furnitures. It gives me the creeps, though. Happy Day!

i have to confess that i LOVE them! not having a whole lot of income at the moment (hubby lost his job in august) we use them to get things such as clothing and sometimes even gifts! (you can get a lot of brand new things there) and sometimes you can even get antiques at the one i go to, certainly vintage stuff!

I can't pass a thrift shop or yard sale. I have found so much great stuff. I got my clothes line from a thrift shop...it normally sells for $70 new and the one I got was new in the box and I got it for $2! I have found Steiff animals for between 25 to 75 cents and have sold them for over $100! I buy most of my clothes at thrift shops because I can get designer brands for nearly 95% off, and the stuff isn't worn that heavily. I also shop thrift shops to find supplies for my crafts and bear making business. I buy ultra suede there, along with fur coats (both real and faux fur) and even fabric to make clothing for the bears. I think I would go nuts if there weren't any thrift shops in my area! I check them out every couple of weeks for any kind of good buys. I love your avatar, who is the little furry buddy in the pix?

opp shopping is great, you can find some real bargins. i've found a number of good books there as well. mums gotten me some really good jeans i used to wear, that were brand new. i've also given a lot of clothes to them as well, unless i can find a good home for them with friends. i scored a really good pair of jeans at the weekend, my mum brought home from their trip away to see family. brand new, been taken up but they didn't fit my aunt, so instead of going to charity they came to me and fit perfectly.

I like yard sales. i have been here for one month and i will go back to my country after two or three years. i can't take lots of things to my country with me, for example furniture, so i think it is not necessary that all staff i use is nes. some secondhand things are good. they are cheaper and some are almost new. i have bought dinner table, computer table, and chair in yard sales. i must say yard sales can help me with saving money.

I love them. In our country there are a lot of flea markets. There is always a good find at a cheap price if you are patient enough to look.

Ahhh...my weakness! LOL We don't live in an area where yard sales are very popular but I love a good one when I find it. Thrift stores are where I shop most. Recently my niece found out she was pregnant and we got her everything she needed (furniture) for $75.00. This included every baby item except a walker. We're still on a search for that one!
