What is More Important To Succeed Online: Technical Skills or Business???

As far as I know, most of the people that work on the Internet, in one way or another, could be considered online enterprisers, though, right? In that case, I would say that we can define success as “having a profitable website or online company.” Who never dreamed about creating the next Facebook or the next Google? Daring to dream is something that we all should do. Apart from conceptualizing our dreams, however, we also need to work hard and smart to achieve them, and that involves making sure that we have the most suitable skill set. And this leads us to the main question: For someone that aspires to have a profitable website or online company, what is more important: business skills or technical skills? What is more important to succeed online: technical skills or business???

I think both should go hand in hand. But if you don't have both, it would be best if you seek help from either business consultants or technical consultants. Depends really on which skill you lack, so they can help you out on that gray area. As go along you'll learn and acquire those skills. So i think it really works hand in hand.

But for both, best luck must be with you.

There is no valid reason to assume that one can get by without proficiency in both. Once in the history of the world people strove to be like a "Renaissance Man (Or Woman!)" and instead of specializing in just one thing they strove to excel in many different areas. Now such a person is regarded in some circles as a dilettante. But I say that if one keeps one's focus too narrow, one runs the risk of becoming narrow-minded. In my view that is a greater failure than any lack of money.

Hello getbrowser this is checkmail and think that both the technical as well as business skills are imp for an sucessful online Income Website.First it will be technical skill that will be required in order to outsmart the other online websites and later the risk avergence techiques and different strategies of business in order to maintain and ensure stability of the website. So both are required or else an another scam website or an failed attempt online.

The answer to this question obviously depends on how we define success. Most of the people that work on the Internet, in one way or another, could be considered online entrepreneurs, though, right? In that case, I would say that we can define success as “having a profitable website or online company.I know that having both would be ideal, but we don’t live in an ideal world. When people get out of the school they will inevitably need to focus on either one or the other. Some people go to study Computer Science and learn to code, while others go to study Business Administration and learn entrepreneurial skills.

I think we need both. Technical Skills as well as Business skills, because to implement the technical Skills you should possess good technical skills.

We can acquire skills from different individuals. We must admit that not all are embedded in our brain to know everything. The humility of accepting the weaknesses is one of the learning process for us. Having business will take some time, but you need to prove that is feasible in the market to gain a profit.

Honestly? I don't have either tech know-how or business savvy. But if I were to analyze which is more important, I'd go with business acumen. Technical stuff can be learned, but a flair for business is like, I don't know, chops? either you have it or you don't. Those who have it are lucky and the rest just have to be determined and imaginative.

Both are important, but business skills are less readily able to purchase from someone else, while for technical, one can hire a web designer. Most important of all, are quality products, good PR skills, and regular attention to your online business. Karen

I think business is more important than skills,if there is business and we do not have the skills then we can still learn. But if there is no business then our skill is not useful. But with the skill we can also create their own business.

I think the business skill is more important because it is a business and you need to have business skills to run a business. Most of the success online entrepreneurs dont have technical skills and are very sucessful because of thier business skill. However, i would prefare to have both

Hi Getbrowser, To succeed in your chosen type of business, you have to be technically skilled and well-versed in running a business. I think business skills are more important than technical , you should know how to sell your products and services on the web. If you know business idea then you can hire any technical skilled guy or company to make the business for you.

For an online success affair, beyond technical aspects i feel the business skill is more important. Technical affairs you can rent that. But the very concept of making it to be a highly trafficked site is a business strategy. A good srtategical plan for it's marketing, can really make a successful venture. Thats my personal feelings.
