So, how often do you socialize with your co - workers after work? Like going to the bar; going to a restaurant; or going to bowling etc....... For me, once in while, my co - workers might ask me if I like to go to the restaurant have a nice meal. Usually it is for someone who is birthday. Or you rather go straight home, and having your own private time?

I totally understand that. Family person usually rather going home to be with their families. For me, I am a single person, so, I won't mind going out to have some fun with my co - workers too. You know, better socialize rather than cage yourself in home alone.

eating out - eating out in restaurant during lunch break with co-workers
I very seldom go and socialize with friends after work. If there is a chance that I am with them, it would be because it is an office activity or gathering. If a co-worker celebrates his birthday outside the office, I just normally send my gift and beg off from any invitation. I feel it is too tiring already to be at a certain place after work. I like to have my own time after work and I rather spend it at home with my children. For lunch tendered by birthday celebrators who are co-workers, if these are tendered in the office, no reason why I could not be there. Sometimes, during lunch breaks the whole group of co-workers go out for lunch in a restaurant and come back for work in the afternoon. I go with them on that occasion.

I've only gone out to eat with a few coworkers on one occasion. That was during training. I already knew the one coworker from my previous place of employment. We had the chance to take a long break one day so we took the chance and went out shopping for a few items for our classroom and then we went out to eat. It was a nice change of pace and helped us get to know each other outside the classroom.

I have gone out with a few different co-workers to a few different places for a few different reasons over the last 11 years of my employ. We have met in bars for birthday celebrations - we have gone to restaurants for a "girls night out" usually just a few of us. I have socialized with a few at their homes. I have met and become great friends with a few of my former coworkers. I have some friends that I have met through work - and after 12 or even 20 years we are still quite close. So I don't see any harm in socializing with your co-workers- One of them could be your next best friend. Almost all (with the exception of 2) of my very good friends were all met a one job or another. It is the place you spend most of your day away from home. so It is easy to form a bond with someone you see everyday. If you have things in common you can build that relationship up. I do enjoy spending my free time at home. But sometimes it is great to get together with others just for some companionship.

I always have lunch with my co-workers. That is usually my regular bonding with them. At times we also have dinner once in a while especially if someone is celebrating his/her birthday.

Before I moved here, I socialised with my co-workers a lot. We usually go out for meals or snacks after work, or have a funny karaoke times together. Most of my co-worker there are singles, so they have enough time to socialise after work. In this new office, I do not socialise with them. I am new and I do not really know my co-workers here. Besides the work load here is much higher and they have wives or kids who wait for them to come home.
