Does anybody feel bad when they kill a bug?

I usually don't kill bugs myself; I ask someone else in the house to do it for me, only if the bug is in the house. If they bug is in a public place, I will leave it alone, and try to prevent anyone from killing it. When I see someone kill a bug, I feel horrible. When I was a kid, I didn't have this feeling. I killed bugs in a heartbeat. I've wanted to study bugs, but I can't if I don't feel comfortable allowing them to be near me.

Ugh, I hate bugs in general, so I don't know if I could summon the courage to squish one. Most of the time, I hope that it just goes away, so I can live peacefully and not worry about it . . . However, when it does get too close then I'll get someone to kill it for me, because in the end they are still a life form. Oh, and I know why you started this dicussion I was there!

Of course, killing the bugs does always give me a slight feeling of guilt, because they are alive and they just want to survive . . . In the end, I am sure that bugs are more afraid of us then we are of them. They have to worry about us stepping on them and crushing them, ending their lives, while we only have to worry about being annoyed by them . . . Sometimes I feel that human emotion, such as being annoyed by bugs goes against the way nature operates, because here we just kill because we don't like the bugs. I'm sure if we were more primitive we wouldn't have this sense, and since we know that the bugs are not dangerous we would not harm them . . .

Yes, civilization and society has definitely angered Mother Nature.

Yes, I usually think that way, too. For me, it's not about courage. I feel guilt. Don't you? And yes, I know why you responded. I was there.

I do. I feel sorry for the bugs who've been killed. When I was young like you I kill them immediately. But now I realize that they have lives too just like us. I thought what if we are the small ones and they are the giant ones. That would be a disaster. So now I don't kill them instead I just blow them away or stay away from them. shadow41

Thank you! :D Someone who agrees with me. I usually think about that scenario, also. I think it would be horrible. Not enough people consider that if there were suddenly giants stomping on us, and leaving our flattened bodies on the ground everywhere, we would live a fearful, cruel life.

Ahahaha. That would be a disaster. I can't imagine if dinosaurs still lives among us. We will be bugs for them. Lol. We would be running and hiding fighting for our lives. We're just lucky we're the giants now. :p shadow41

No not at all. I am not bothered to. Since I am not really comfortable having them around. Don't you know that they are the most dirty insects? They bring a lot of disease... It is not good to have them around especially if you have children at home.

I'm not comfortable having them around, either. I don't think spiders carry diseases; they seldom bite. The only time they will bite is when you corner them, and make them feel defenseless.
