This is not true but this is a myth.Actually reading up close never damage or blind your eyes.Reading close will just keep ur eyes away from strain and also watching tv from near doesnt damage ur eyes.Ya it can be a symptom of nearsightedness...nothing much.

Isn't watching or reading something too close without rest will affect our ability to focus on far objects?
