Any questions or just pertaining to religion? Because I'm not really sure if my question is about religion or just culture and honestly it could be both. I was wondering if honor killings are actually something that happens or if it is more of a media thing. And, if it is a part of life, how do you personally feel about that? I had just recently seen something on television about the issue and have really wanted to know but, I'm sure you know this already, when a question such as this one is posted on mylot the responders are not Muslim.

I expecting questions on Islam & Muslims. I heard about honor killing through some news or websites in some countries. Islam never ever say to do honor killing. As far as I know honor killing is killing the member of a family who did a worst act/sin that bring bad name to family they do the killing. For any social related crimes or sins, Court/Govt must attend those cases. We can't take the law in our own hand and kill someone. Killing in that way must be a crime.

Thanks for clearing that up, we do have a large Muslim population here but, I mostly only see men and they aren't very talkative and I'm somewhat shy. I know that after 9/11 there was a stigma with Muslims here and I don't think that they forgot that although I believe a lot of Americans have. I'm really glad you gave us the opportunity to ask questions and tell us how it is suppose to be, I know that extremists exist in every culture and religion and I am not one that believe that one person represents the whole. Thank you!

Hi ZephyrSun, US has about 7 or 8 million Muslims. 9/11 has mad their life much difficult of course, many people see them with suspected eyes. There is no clear proof that 9/11 was done by at least name sake Muslims or Osama bin Laden, rather than a guess and hypothesis made by biased political analysts to bring bad name for Islam. There were many Muslims also got killed in 9/11 attack, it just don't go down the throat of many people and just blame Muslims for that, what a pity! Many of the words have got changed by the modern society. Especially the technical terms in Islam like 'Jihad', 'Sharia' etc. If you mean by the word "Extremist" is the one who extremely believe, then I'm an Extremist Muslim. I extremely believe in peace by submitting to God, extremely believe in worshiping, extremely believe in Charity, Extremely believe in loving parents and neighbors etc. I agree that we should accept the way for doing any act that is not beyond the limits prescribed. If the word "Fundamentalist" means who strictly adheres to the fundamental concepts, then I'm a fundamentalist Muslim. I try to strictly adhere to the fundamental concepts of Islam. Without fundamentals no value for remaining. Don't think that I'm an Extremist and Fundamentalist in the sense the people think of it nowadays. Who ever have just an Arabic name doesn't mean he is not a Muslim. Muslim is the one who submit his will for Almighty God's instructions. Peace.

This seems to be very rare thing. Of course you could seek some medical treatment, in this modern medicine world there must be some solutions for it. Islam explicitly do not suggest any medicine for that. However if you really believe you pray to Allah about this and to cure it and take medicines. Probably if you read Quran by knowing it's meaning whole heartedly and keep busy and controlling your mind may have some influence in that. As far as I know once it reaches climax, it may take more time to happen the next. If there are more gaps it would be fine to have a bath and then go for the main prayer 'salat'. If it is so short gap, as an exception you may offer 'Salat' without minding it and pray to God. You can do all other prayers normally even if you have it anytime. May Allah cure your problems. Peace.

hello freind i am khan, i had read your problems and i will not take your much time i will tell you in shortly description about your problem. i want to say you that the person who decide to follow the path of truth, he have to face many problems and this problems which he want to face is due to two reasons 1. which is taken by allah to test his devotee that till where he make his believe on me. 2. which is nothing but the mistakes or crimes done by him . i want to say you to remember one thing there are several people who takes helps of god in need and forget him when his critical condition is gone. please dont assume this things that i am saying for you only it is for all including me. i want to say that one hadith is there the one who want help in need from allah and he forget them after that condition then allah told that the will not get my help in that condition. you know what, allah dont do injustice allah had also test his messengers and i think you know about the positions of them. there are some peoples who blame to allah by saying that god is not listening their prayers even when they are praying namaz and doing so much for islam. i will suggest you to pray allah regularly and pray him by saying that oh lord! please forgive me because allah loves the person who remember his real lord regularly(that is in every condition in bad condition also and in good condition also.) i am saying this because there is one hadith that "allah told that you remember me and i will remember you ". please reply with your opinion. your friend khan.

I do sort of have a question, let me see if I get this right. Muslim is a nationality, is who you are. Like I am an American. Islam is a religion, like I am protestant. Is that right. I regularly go to a church and my church teaches the young people in class about other religions. We don't claim to be the "only" "right" religion or belief. I think that is wrong, we all have to look into ourselves and come up with our own right way. Take care.

correction : malaysia was not founded by muslim, it was founded by Prince Parameswara, Indian travellers to here called it "malai ure" as in "country of hills" ~ i learned this in my history book when i was 10 years old that was almost 20 years back, today the same history book does not have "parameswara" anymore as he has converted, n the country was fouded by "muslim" ~ many archiology places has been destroyed, by gods grace n blessings my husband saw some they were sad looking .. now only forrest

Khan Rabi'u-Allah, I don't have any certificate of Qualification in Islam. While I was younger I had completed 6th class of Islamic education (so called Madrasas in India). After that I used to read different kind of Islamic Books, Magazines that I get and used to read Holy Quran in Arabic, Malayalam and English. I used to listen or watch speeches of different local and global scholars of Islam. I used to watch Peace TV for last few years as well. I am not a Hafiz, I know a few of the Quran by heart. I am not an Aalim, I am a student always.. If you mean Khari is the one who read Quran, I can read Quran somewhat better way, not excellent though. I am not a Mufti or none bearing a position. I am just a common Muslim man. Peace.

Wa Alaikum al-Salam Khan Rabiullah, I do remember you very much. I am a Muslim by the grace of Allah. We can give any name in MyLot, harley is my MyLot name, I just took that name from the famous Motor Cycle "Harley Davidson". My real name is something else (Just keeping it secret.. hehe). I have read your discussions, and I replied once. You have to make discussions that are related to non-Muslims as well using understandable words to non-Muslims and people all over the world in a better English and proper formatting. Most of the Islamic discussions you wrote are like a statement and it is only dealing with Muslims and non-Muslims has nothing to do with that. Muslim population is less in MyLot and your discussion will not get resolved. If you want to talk to me more personally send me message. Hope you have a nice time. Peace.
