The health officials tell us to drink at least eight 8oz. glasses of water a day. I drink closer to twelve, like you mentioned. Drinking a lot of water is good for weight loss too. Not to mention it helps keep a person "regular". I have never had that problem, but for people who do, I'm sure it is nice to have that knowledge.

I think it is important for us to at least drink 8 glass of water a day, and yes I agree it'll make us more healthy. I honestly don't think I drink 8 glasses of water everyday, some days I don't, but most days I do try to drink plenty of water. Yes, I think it's excellent to drink a lot of water. One thing I noticed is if I drink a lot of soda (cola and the like) I get both more hungry and thirsty.. but drink less water.

I agree with you that drinking water is important to our health. Lack of water will dehydrate our body which in the long run will attract many illnesses.

Everyone is saying water is good for us for health reasons. I do believe on it but I cannot drink 8 glasses or more of water a day. 2 glasses will be alright for me and I think thats just fine.

hi as2006 my doctor always tells me to drink 8u to 10 glasses of water a day, that will keep you hydrated and healthy. any more is too much, and less will leave you thirsty. so shoot for 8 to 10 glasses of water and juice and fluids each day.

Water is very important for our body. Without water, we will not survive. We will be dyhydrated and eventually die from it. i may at times not be able to drink at least 8 glasses of water but I am trying my best to drink that much.

Actually, there has been quite a bit of controversy over this statement lately. A lot of research has been done to find out where exactly that originated and not many people actually know for sure. You are suppose to consume enough water every day to replace what your body uses or expels in your daily actions, but they say that the number can actually vary quite a bit based on age, dietary habits, activity level, health condition and even the type of climate that you live in/work in. I read somewhere that the average person loses eighty ounces of water a day, but also takes in approximately 32 ounces of water through foods. This averages to about a forty-eight ounce deficiency which is about 6 cups of water. There are even some professionals that claim that much water is too much. People have been known to die from over-hydration (also known as water intoxication)as well as dehydration. So, basically, you should consume however much water your body seems to need. If you are healthy both physically and mentally, then you must be doing it right. Don't push yourself to consume 8-10 cups of water a day if you don't need to.
