who does your hairdo base on when in barbershop?

I just donnot know how to choose when in barbershop,to let the barber personally deside which kind of hairdo to be done,or to show him what I would like it to be?I mean should I leave him enough right to design it,to make his full performance? What troubles me lots is that both ways offer me a unsatisfied hairdo almost everytime. Some time it even bored me when in front of the mirror and brought me a bad mood at very early morning. So I quite afraid of going to barbershop now.Do you have the same feel as me?

I cut my own hair, I don't like other messing with it, I never like the results, at least if I mess up I can blame myself...lol

Do it yourself? This is my first time to hear about that! There is a saying goes that barbers need others to help him with his hair. But you can manage it.lol

I always bring a picture of what I want. It's usually some celebrity that I admire their hair. I always make sure though that it's something that will look good on me, I base it mostly on the face. I have a prominent jaw so looks for square face are good for me. I try to bring a couple of different poses so the hair lady can get a good idea. The only times I have been dissatisfied is when I have not brought a picture and tried to describe what I want.

Your suggestions sound great!Maybe taking a picture to show the hair lady what I want to be do be a good idea! And also depend on my face.perhaps these can do sth.Thank you, nolipo.
