I take care of someone with Alzheimers. Everyday seems to get worse. Even doing the simplest things can be challenging. Even doing the dishes I take my eye off here. She can fall or get herself in trouble. I can't always have someone here. So any suggestions? I can't turn my back for a minute!

hi tamron123! i do understand taking care of a person with alzheimers can be very challenging and overwhelming.you can have a check on your house regarding safety issues.keep the house uncluttered.you can take professional help from occupational therapist regarding safety at home.this can help minimise your caregiving burden

It is easier if you find out what she likes to do and then set her to doing it. My ex father in law had Alzheimers too he liked to watch sports so I would record his games and play them over and over. He never remembered it at the end of the game that is why I did that. Does she like to crochet , knit, read etc that is what I mean find what she likes to do and help her get started. Always be kind to her she didn't want this and she is stuck with it now so help her in anyway you can. Believe me she is more confused then you are.
