Have you ever been to a yard sale or garage sale and found something that turned out to be a hidden gem? A few years ago my mother went to a family friends yard sale and found a vintage spuds mckenzie poster in frame she thought it was cute so she purchased it for next to nothing. for those of you who don't know who spuds mackenzie is, well he was a popular fictional character dog that was in these silly but fun bud light commercials in the 80s, anyway this poster is in near perfect condition, and it turns out they fetch a pretty penny on ebay, and if you want to know more about spuds mckenzie you can look it up on wikipedia. Well tell me y'all have you ever bought a hidden gem at a yard sale or elsewhere?

I actually buy at secondhand stores.it actually holds true for me.most of my clothes are from secondhand shops.I am actually proud of my buys.a lot of people have complimented me on my clothes.it goes to show that beautiful clothes isn't really about the brand.it's how you carry and style the clothes.

i have been pretty fortunate at garage sales and have gotten a few neat things. i once got some very vintage childrens blocks for 75 cents (i got about 15 of them) and looked on ebay right after and saw the same type for $10. and that was at least 10 years ago. i have also gotten fairly lucky at thrift stores too. we have one that sells stuff really cheap and i have been able to get neat stuff from the 50's there for under a dollar.

I agree with you apples! Haha.. thats wonderful, your mom's got a talent in digging those "jems" haha and for sure that poster is really worth having. I found a jacket from a garage sale, it was like a biker jacket which is really nice and in good condition. It's really cool to have it and many think that it was an expensive piece of jacket...whereas, its just 50 pesos. lol..in dollar it was like $5. I bought it six years ago, until now its wearable and it is a fine piece of jacket.

Yes. I usually go to surplus shops or second hand stores to buy stuffs which are too expensive if brand new. Got this 100 years old antique cabinet in one of my visit and now somebody is buying it 5 times the price I paid.
