Hi, I'm an American man, and I'm getting ready to move to Romania to teach at at college there. I'm excited about my new opportunity, but I'm also worried. I'm leaving all my friends and family behind so I won't know anyone there and it will be hard for me to meet people. The thing is, I'm 30, and I plan to stay there for about 4 or 5 years. These are the years that I need to be finding a wife and making a family. I'm worried that when I get over there, that I will have trouble meeting someone, maybe because I'm American, and speak differently, or whatever. I'm told that I'm handsome, smart, funny, but still, I worry that I will waste the next few years of my life and not be able to find a wife. What do you think?

well i don't think that it's necessary that you should marry somebody who's from Romania just because you'll be there for how many years. i'm sure that you can meet so many people there that aren't really born in Romania. it could be possible that you can meet an American woman there... :D

Hi there lefthooklacey. I noticed that you are somewhat new here to myLot, so let me send out a great big "WELCOME" your way. I think that you will do quite well in Romania. Most people from other countries often seem to like Americans, or foreigners in general. I think there is a bit of mystery there. Just like we feel about the people from other countries when we go to visit. It is always so enlightening to learn the cultures of other people. I most recently read a book called The Powers of the Cosmic Mind. This book was very informative and useful when it came to thinking about our future and fears of what might happen. The book stated that we should not only think positive and not have fear about the future, but we should also picture ourselves and what we might want to happen. If you picture something happening to you, it will happen. While reading the book, I remembered times in the past when I was hoping for something and pictured it in my head. Sure enough it did happen. So not only think positive, but also picture what you want to happen! Good luck to you in your new adventure!
