Caskets at Walmart?!

Never mind going shopping for things you need while you're alive....think about what you want when you're gone! Walmart seems to be wanting to compete not only with other department stores, but funeral homes, too! Prices start at $999.00....Just in time for Halloween, this gives people a chance to live eternally with low prices!! Would you send a loved one to rest in eternal peace in a casket from walmart?

You bet I would!! If we could only get walmart into healthcare, everyone could afford coverage.

"Washington policymakers contemplating a fundamental overhaul of the nation's troubled health-care system may want to study the saga of Wal-Mart." **a quote from the link, the Washington Post**

What about return shipping if it's delivered too late?!

I doubt that my loved ones would care what I put them in! We're a family that wants to be cremated, anyway, after we're harvested by the organ donor programs. I would never have thought Walmart would get into the coffin business but I'm not surprised!

hi mzz663 I don't think my loved ones would know the difference and it would not matter to me either, since we would probably choose cremation anyway. But I am not ashamed to buy anything at Walmart. I like to save money myself.

I wonder if they'll pay return shipping if it arrives too late?

Hi! Nothing from walmart surprises me anymore. And no i don't think i would be doing any casket shopping at walmart should a loved one die. Walmart has gone overboard. Obviously, their customer service area needs a great amount of help, so how could someone in grief actually even think of buying a casket from them.

I don't think they're worried about customer service for these....just something else they can try to bury and forget about....

How very true! That seems like walmarts policy, bury and forget it!

I find that wierd. I even went to walmart.com to look it up! I know you can get a wide variety of things at Walmart, but that's a bit ridiculous to me. I don't think my mom would care where the casket came from, as long as it's good quality, but still. I even showed her and she said "Why the hec would Walmart sell caskets?!" I agree. When you think of Walmart, you don't think 'casket'. At least, I don't!

That seems a bit creepy to me. I don't think that Wal-Mart is the place to buy caskets.

Hm, if it wasn't for the pricing, i would probably buy one for that person that i hate but he never leave me alone. I think that would get the message across pretty well. (evil grin)
