Hi, to all people living in the cold area, or in the place where there is winter, what kind of food you usually prepare during winter time? My hubby said, he likes to have soup all the time when this time of year comes. what else aside from having soup all the time? Just curious to know so that I will have idea. I come from a tropical country where the weather is the same all year round so, there's no seasonal food.

I like to prepare hot chocolate. It's very soothing to sit on a chair in front of a fireplace, drinking hot chocolate in dim light. :D

Like your Hubby, we also like to have soup during winter and chilli con carne, actually most of the food that I make, I put chilli, but just a bit because I don't really like when it's too spicy. I also drink a lot of coffee during winter, it helps my hands to keep warm to just hold onto cup, lol.

Hi Bebs! Just like your hubby, I think that soup is very common in the winter! But I love to have hot coco, with fresh bread! Or some cookies! Baked goods are my favorite when it gets cold out! This is when I gain the extra pounds too! But I guess it ok! lol.. Have a nice day!

I usually make a lot more spaghetti, stews, and/or chili. All of them go great with warm breads.

well i am here in canada and it gets hot during the summer (with temperatures in the high 90's) but in the winter, it gets quite cold here so of course you want to eat foods that will warm you up. to that end, we eat a lot of soups and stews with fresh homemade bread during hte winter.

Oh!! Home made bread with soup? that might be a good idea making bread. I was not able to make bread for a long time. We just buy ready made in the grocery store. That might be a good idea.

Hi there Bebs08. Another food that is quite popular in the winter is chili. I am sure that if your husband likes soup in the winter, that he will like chili as well. Hot pies are also a nice treat! I like to fix soup all of the time myself. My favorite recipe is pretty simple. I use one pound of ground beef, one can of corn, two cans of stewed diced tomatoes, two cans of diced potatoes, one can of carrots, and one can of green beans. However, you can use whichever type of veggies that you like. I mix all of the vegetables into a dutch cooker and bring it to a boil. Then lower the temperature. I then brown the ground beef in a skillet. Once it is brown, I drain the grease. After that, I pour the ground beef into the cooker with the vegetables and bring it to a boil again. I then let it cook on low until it smells like a mixture instead of smelling each of the vegetables separately. It is even better warmed up. I hope you will find lots of good food to fix for your husband this winter.
