Can you really say I love you in a song?

Jim Croce thought so. Do you remember the song? There have been several post lately about saying I love you. Some think if you say it too much it loses meaning. Some think you can't say it enough. Some don't say it at all. So can you use a song to say it for you? Does it hold the same weight as if you said it yourself? Can you really say it too often? Can you name some famous meaningful love songs? I have to say I love you by Jim Croce it is definitely meaningful. What are some other I love you songs?

I can think of a ton of songs. A few are: The Only One for Me by Brian McKnight, Everything I Do by Bryan Adams, and Dolly Parton's I Will Always Love You. I think some songs say I love you so sincerely it does carry the same weight. I'm okay with saying it everyday but feels the acts of showing someone you love them mean so much more. Anybody can say the words but showing it carries more weight.

I love Dolly Parton's I will always love you. That is a fabulous song. I think it was written for Porter Wagner, but don't quote me on that :)

I remember that Jim Croce song so well. That was one of my favorites. Of course, just about any song of Jim Croce's could very easily be listed on my favorites list. "I Will Always Love You", is a very good song as well. And what about the song by George Jones "He Said I'll Love You Til I Die". Do you know the history on that song? Some one else wrote the song. It was presented to George Jones when he was in a slump. He didn't think that people would like it. Therefore, George Jones wrote a final verse to the song. You know the one....She came to see him one last time, but this time he's over her for good. And he came back into the lives of country music fans. I bet he often wonders what would have happened if he wouldn't have gotten that song. It put him back on the charts and brought George Jones back into the living rooms of American families everywhere.

The song was titled He Stopped Loving Her Today and you are right it was a great song. The Possum did a great job singing it too. He is a classic.
