Have you ever tried using your hair pin to clean your ears. i have used it many times but now i avoid doing it infront of my baby. she copies all what we people do . but when i suffer from sneezing and irritation in throat and all that stuff, i just cant wait to go and take a bud . i just pull out a hair pin from my hairs and starts the cleaning job. and there is nothing. it is just a feel of itching that makes me crazy.

I have used a hairpin, too. And like yourself, I don't do it in front of by baby. Usually, I will use a cotton swab because it doesn't scratch my ear as much, and I can throw it away without having to worry about if I have another one somewhere to replace it. But I don't even use a cotton swab in front of my baby. She is almost two, and will copy everything that she sees me do. If she is around and I have to clean my ears (they drain fluid a lot), then I will get a washcloth. At least if she tries that with her ears, it will be too big to be inserted.
