Laptops or desktops?

Which do you prefer to use, laptops or desktops? I've been told that laptops have less power than desktops. Though laptops are so much more convenient. I mean c'mon you can be so lazy and watch tv while surfing the web, or you can get some work done while cooking, or watch tv while working, or whatever it is that you need your computer for. With me, I have to take care of my dad during the day, and my mom was given a laptop, so I take advantage, and use the web while tending to him. I'm out there in the room with him, while doing mylot, or just surfing the web for him, whatever needs to be done. I very seldom, and don't think I'll ever cook and play with the laptop at the same time, that could be VERY dangerous and knowing me.... would end in disaster! I can barely text and cook, but anyway... Comment! Let me know what you think!

For me it depends on what you want. In my home I prefer to be sitting in from of a desktop with a big screen. But of course if I am in the street I have to use my laptop. For that reason I don't agree with those people think that the desktops will disapear in a couple of years. I believe both will be with ours or maybe some company will design some kind of computer that will function like a desktop and like a laptop.

that would be neat to have some thing that functions like both a laptop and a desktop.

I think, interestingly enough, that desktops will soon be irrelevant. For such a long time in the world of computers, a desktop was all that was available. Even the first "notebook" computers were huge and clunky; not convenient for portability. Now though, there are so many benefits to have a laptop. You have look up facts any time at any place. Wireless has virtually made desktop computers obsolete. I think that people have come to terms with a separate type of computing power because, simply put, laptops are so much easier. However, there are some drawbacks. First, laptops are still more expensive because of the desired portability. Second, they break more easily because you are using them more, hauling them around and that puts wear and tear on your computer that a desktop just wouldn't endure. And lastly, desktops keep your computing out of your family and personal life. Once laptops take over and one cannot simply remove themselves from the internet, computers have won... :) As I write this though, I'm laying in my bed on my very own laptop. So maybe I'm a little partial.
