Noynoy seems to be the favorite among the presidentiables based on the surveys, he's leading with a large margin based on the news. Thanks to Cory's magic. However there are questions about his capabalities and that he not ripe enough to lead the country. What is your opinion on this? and why?

I like Noynoy because he has a good reputation. You know all the candidates always have a good and bad points. The difference is that, Noynoy has no track record of corruption and scandals that's why his critics couldn't think of any issue against him other than "not capable" "not a seasoned politician". What about other Presidential candidates like Gilbert Teodoro and Chez Escudero, they are on the same bracket of Noynoy: new in politics, former congressman and young, but they never questioned about their so called capabilities, why Noynoy is being singled out?well, the clear answer to that is he is the strongest among the candidates that's why other people is trying to pull him down with a very shallow issue. Then if that is the case, what is the measure of "capable" in politics?.There are seasoned politician we know, but we saw them as the most ineffective and the most corrupt, there are people whom we think "are not ripe" in politics but see, they are the most effective and aggressive for progress compared to the veterans. So that propaganda against Noynoy is just his critics' tactics, but very shallow and cheap tactics. Why they not single out those corrupt and scandalous Presidential aspirants?

check the wikipedia for their profiles and you will see how far is he from teodoro and chiz. Since you said they are in the same bracket in terms of politics, then see their other accomplishments outside politics. Their educational is the foundation of what they are capable of, check this out in wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Noynoy_Aquino http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Francis_Escudero http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gilberto_Teodoro

Thanks Strawberry, the links you provided narrowed down my choice to Noynoy and Gibo upon knowing that Chiz was congressman of Sorsogon. Sorsogon to me remains a poor province and there are a lot of NPAs, I'm not saying CHiz is to blame but he could have done something about it. Cheers!

To: Strawberry Poor you who think having a soaring educational background is the strongest point to rule this beleaguered country effectively. Look on people who are regarded to be highly intellectual, the moment they took over their dreamed position in the country, their goals shifted and just focus on their vested self interest activities. Dr. Leo Buscaglia, a renowned American psychiatrist even declared: "Some of the dumbest and most notorious people in the world have Ph.D's but some of the well-mannered people I know don't even know what Ph D is all about". Dr. Buscaglia is only mean to emphasize that having a fascinating educational background is not a surefire of being a good leader, try to think it a million times before you freak! Who do you think is capable Cheez Escudero?that fool politician who did nothing in the congress but spit on the administration but he could not even think of better alternatives, he is just like the rest of politicians who took advantage on the hatred of people against the administration just to make pogi points. Gibo Teodoro could not be trusted and a ridiculous traitor after lampooning on the administration, he rode on the free willy ride and even made him their standard bearer, what a waste!

Well I think Noynoy has a good chance to make it this coming election of all the aspirants he seems tobe the only one that has a clean slate. Erap seems to have problem with his judgement so he is tainted with it for the rest of his life. although he was given pardon it does not mean that the judgement of the court is already stricken from him. He also has question about his runnning again since he was proven guilty by court of law. Villar on the other hand seems to be clean but his track record as senator was tainted by scandals like the projects that favor his business interest. You could just see how he can easily manipulate it for his favor when he gets to be seated as president of this country. And by the way he spends his campaign infomercials that has been airing for the past several months already I really think it runs in the millions already. I do not think that he can recover that easily from his business interest and more especially in his salary as a president. The more you spent for your candidacy the more you are prone to get tempted to be corrupt. This two are the major rivals I see that can be fronted with Noynoy. If you were to choose which between these people have the lesser evil you can choose.

I sure hope that he is indeed out of the picture and more so out of the race. Villar and Aquino seems to be the two that will really be in the race this election.

Erap to me is already out of the picture, I think Villar and Noynoy would appeal more to the masses at this moment. Besides, Erap had his chance and he blew it bigtime. So far I don't think were choosing among the lesser evil if we take a look a the current presidentiables, they all have the qualifications and the track records to back them up. To me its more of choosing the better candidate. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!

I dont know much about Hacienda Luisita, but I'll try to give my opinion. Maybe Hacienda Luisita was in question, but this one is own by the ancestry and it was Cory who is head of the family at that time and for sure Noynoy as a son is not in the position to decide, however this time that he is seen as the head of the family , maybe if all members in the family will say so, why not.

Well the thing is everyone has good intentions and there's no indication that it's otherwise. It's confusing... LOL. Thanks for sharing.

exactly, I think the people should be wary because all the politicians only have good intentions when they are running for public office or at the least that's what they want to portray but nothing beats the track record. Until greed for power finally takes over and they just want to cling to their positions like you-know-who and the rest is history and the cycle continues. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!

hard to seperate the fruit from the tree but i do think noynoy is his own man and we do well as president. he really can't escape the shadows of his parents, ninoy aquino and cory aquino, and regardless of noynoy's own accomplishments, he will have a tall order trying to surpass or even meet what his parents accomplished for our country. not so sure if noynoy has the machinery to take him to the presidency next year but i do see he will be getting lots of support from a wide range of sectors that include the youth, the religious, and the socio-political groups. this is not counting the sectors and personalities who have ties to both his father and mother. i'm sure those who was with cory aquino during her term as president will throw their support for the son of their beloved president. surveys are a good barometer in gauging the popularity of a candidate but it is by no means a fool-proof way to determine if a candidate leadign in surveys will win in the actual elections. i for one am not decided who i will vote for but i'm keeping tabs on what noynoy has to offer if he wins the presidency. just my thoughts. cheers!!!

He or his family may have a good track record but he is not good enough to be president. He even can't decide before whether he will run or not, that means he does not have a big picture and objective for the good of his country at that moment. This time is not the right time for him. The time for him to run for presidency is when he have his own conviction to do so, not being wooed by any body else, media publicity etc,... He is "good" but not good enough for president. Roxas could have been better, but you see, they put Ninoy in front because of his popularity, it means just for the LP party to gain power and not entirely for the good of the philippines.

Honestly, I don't like his candidacy. Even he has a good family background and his mother is former president. Do you think he will run as a president if her mother still alive? I don't think so. Well, thats what I think. We still need to think 1 million times or more before we choose who we think will be a good and not corrupt president. Don't just think about what his or her family background. Sorry for the voters of Noynoy but its just my opinion.

I have nothing against Noynoy, he may not be ready for it but accepting the challenge is admirable considering that he's putting not only his name but that of his parents on the line. We all know that it may take several Noynoys to fill in the shoes of Ninoy and Cory and it's a great task if he succeeds and god knows what will become of him if he fails. Frankly, I have yet to decide on whose to vote for but Noynoy's candidacy is very much welcome. And so far his track record is clean. Thanks for sharing. Cheers!
