I do trust wikipedia at times because whenever I go search on wikipedia I still make it a point to compare the articles written in their on a book or on another website.

Even if it's not editable by anyone I still don't trust it 100% because most things in this world can change.

I trust it, because I use it myself and I also edit it. Because I actually edit the articles, I know what goes on there and I try to correct any incorrect information. There is a lot of vandalism that goes on in Wikipedia, and there are a lot of people (and Bots!) who work to revert the vandalism. As a general rule of thumb, you can trust any article that has a good amount of references in it. If you simply check the references that were listed, you can see where the person got the information. Another thing to do would be to check the History of all the edits made to that article. After some searching, you can see if anyone added any bad things to the article. It is true that anyone can edit it, but there are good people who are constantly working to keep Wikipedia a great site. We make sure that it can be trusted and we will make sure that things are going well. . .

Much of what you read can be trusted for a pedestrian perusal of a subject. But I prefer to use the citations and sources listed at the bottom of the wikis for more complete and accurate information. If you're worried about bias, then the only defense is to use multiple sources and to verify each claim. Never take any single source of information on faith. Everything these days need to be verified. Wiki is as vulnerable to disinformation as anything. It may cite a commonly cited source, but that source may be an industry sponsored organization or a study backed by someone with a social or political agenda. You have to check the background of each and every source you use. Propaganda experts rely on the fact that we don't have the time to thoroughly research each and every piece of information we hear. I would like to see some regulation on their practices, but until then, all we can do is to be sceptical of everything.

Actually, I don't fully trust wikipedia for the reason that anybody can upload information that might not be exact. But when I'm doing a work for school, I check wikipedia first jsut to know what my subject is mostly about and what keywords I can use for my research, I lovwe wikipedia for this reason and also to find facts about many things.

Although anyone could edit it, your updates would not be approved until it is verified.
