Tagging Discussions

Do you like to submit tags after you post in a discussion? Do you do them anyway even if there are already tags? For me, if I can remember to do it then I would tag the discussions that don't already have tags on them. Otherwise, I would just leave them if there's already tags.

MyLot did send out an 'alert' a few months ago that all discussions should be tagged otherwise it can lead to our accounts being suspended or something, I have forgotten about that, but I did remember about the 'alert'. Before, I would sometimes just skip doing the tagging because since they have given the options to submit or skip, so, I thought it should be okay, but after the 'alert', I never failed to tag especially when I am responding for the first time of a discussion. If I respond back to the responded discussion and it requires me to tag again, I would just skip it.

Hmm, I never got that alert but once you have tagged or skipped taggin in a discussion it won't ask you to do so again if you're posting in the same discussion.

Hi gloamglozer Well i only add tags when i am starting a discussion, most of the other discussions are already tagged with the appropriate keywords so i leave them that way, yeah but sometimes i tag them up if i am the first one to respond but usually i don't don't get that opportunity and also the discussion starter already adds the main tags so i leave it in peace.

Yep, that's pretty much what happened here. Already tagged, so I wouldn't have done anything either.

fair enough, it does take a bit of time to do so and there's no option to skip that page that says "submit tags". you have to press skip just to get back on the page.

Yeah, it's kind of rare to find a topic with no tags after the first few people have posted something so I don't tend to tag much as well.

If a discussion has been started with no tags then i may tag it,but i do not normally bother.

Well, I rarely ever submit tags onto the discussions when responding. Only if I can come up with something truly important and unique will I add it as a tag. This discussion, for example; I will not submit any tags here because I see that you already have a good selection. I don't need to add anything more, because you have already covered it all. Really, I do not remember the last time I ever submitted any tags . . .

I tag once in awhile. If I don't know know what to use for a tag, then I will just skip it. I don't really think it is all that necessary to tag it for respondin, then it should have been tagged by the discssion starter. I do try to tag as much as possible though and I will continue to do so. I have had to search at times for disucssions to respond to, and if there were no tags, then I wouldn't find anything to respond to from the search I had done. So, I hope that the discussion starters are tagging the discusions, so we can find them easier when we need to. Good luck to ou and happy mylotting.

Even if the discussion starter doesn't tag then it usually does get tagged after the first few people who respond.
