Are you going to take the vaccin for the H1N1?

The title says it all. I would like to know if you will take it. If not, then why. As for myself, I have some doubt about the vaccin. I asked some friends who work in hospitals and they told me they don't want to take it for themselves but they have too. If they don't, they will be suspended for a week or something. So they don't have a choice. They said that the virus could perfom a mutation so the vaccin could not be the good one. The vaccin could also give cephalalgia sometimes. The studies wasn't even long term meaning that not enough tests have been perform. For now it's the only vaccin available since that's all we have. So I am hesitating for my grandma. What's your opinion?

No I have never taken the regular flu shot I'm not going to start now. I don't trust the vaccine at all. My brother had taken the flu shot years ago when in the Navy and was very sick for two weeks. He really thought he was going to die. So after hearing this I swore I would never take a flu shot of any kind. I feel bad for the hospital workers that have to take it.

i had chicken pox and hepatitis shots when i was in high school..that was pretty much about it. I also do feel bad for my friends. They are really agaist it but they have to take a chance on the shot since they get more in contact with sick people. They just recommanded me to wash my hands before eating...

Yes I feel the same way I rather take care of myself with teas and home remedies. I do not like taking any type of medicines. In fact when I have had to I would get more sick from the medicine then what was wrong with me.

I don't think I'm going to get any vaccine for as long as I live. LOL... I'm the type of person that even a painkiller, I'll try to avoid the best I can. I just don't like the idea of medicine in my body, even vaccine. I try to be as natural as possible, but if really sick, will go to the doctor. And sometimes, when I collect medicine, I don't really eat it; only 1 time if it's really bad. So for this vaccine H1N1, I might give it a pass.

hi zed! Long time no see :) You must be in a very good shape. My cousin has also told me that if I do alot of sports and I eat healthy, my body should be strong enough to be immune against it. After reading all these comments, i might not take the shot

I won't take the vaccine either, since it needs more clarification about the functioning of this in human body. Instead I would prefer to take some preventive medicine against H1N1. If the vaccine cause more health hazards, then it will be OK for me not to take it.

Hmm same here. Elders have priority here i think and people around my age, i am 23, will have to wait at end of November. I'll use that to my advantage to see if the people who took it are still healthy. They also told me that if my grandma doesn't go out often, she doesn't need the shot.

That all depends, but nitil now, I don't get the H1N1 vaccine. Yes, I have never had a vaccine for the flu, H1N1 and I don't plan on getting one either. In my opinion, what should we do is to build our body and keep healthy. Youu see, this H1N1 vaccine is so new, and i am not sure whether it is helpful to our health. That is to say, we don't even know the full side effects and other disasters it can cause to people. Of course, if the situation is getting worse, I will take the vaccin for the H1N1.

I am also hesitating at the moment. This is like gambling. You are taking a risk to be sick if you don't get vaccinated but on the other hand there are other risks concerning the vaccin. I read the newspaper this morning and it seems they ran out of those vaccins. It would sucks if i had to get that flu and contaminate the rest of my family...

No, definitely NOT for me, nothing is clear with this H1N1 vaccine unlisenced components. This vaccine was made in record time I just don,t want them to test on me. I will do the same I always do, take care of my immune system.

I am on the fence with this one....leaning towards NOT taking it. I don't take meds of any kind except for very very rarely. I am not so concerned about myself as I never really get sick...it is so rare and I recover so quickly when I do get anything. I have not missed a days work to illness in so so many years. I do have a 15 yr old and that is where all these scare stories are grabbing me. What if I go along with what I normally do and do nothing & something happens....I would never forgive myself. Still...they have no long term studies. I got pushed by this same thinking into letting her have the vaccine that is to cure cervical cancer. When she got her physical last year to join sports they strongly pushed it. I later learned all these horrible side effects which thankfully she has not experienced. I really don't want it and I don't want it for my daughter but then you listen to the news and hear all these horror stories and I just don't like it. Look at some of the crap they gave us back in the early 60's that years and years later are finding caused all sorts of problems. I don't think any of us should be punished for taking something that we are not comfortable with.

No, I am not going to take the vaccine... firstly, because the vaccine is not a fully tested one... secondly, i think, people are over-concerned about the outcome of the flu... moreover, i believe, other preventive measures should be good enough to avoid the flu... if, even after taking those preventive measures, I'm caught by the flu, what can be done? the last hope is, most patients can be cured if treated at the right time... so, nothing to be panicked about...

The vaccin for the H1N1 is limited now.Not everyone can take it.If I have access to it,I will take it.Because my strength is not good.I am prone to sufffer flu.Our school has stopped having classes.Almost every student on the streets are wearing respirators. So I am going to take the vaccin for the H1N1.

erh~ i get a vaccin for the h1n1, and in my view,i just think we should accepet the vaccin,on one hand,it's a good way to pretect ourselves, and for h1n1,we have no choies if we want to defeat it,on the other hand, only we are injected the vaccin for the h1n1,we could decrease rate that we are interviewed, that is to say,the all our government did are for us. so i think we ought to take the vaccin for the h1n1. thank you!

I will never take myself to get H1N1 vaccine. I will take all the necessary precautions to prevent myself from getting it. I will keep myself healthy and avoid anything/anywhere that can put me at risk for H1N1. Sorry, but i don't believe in vaccines.

h1n1 don't just happens to just anyone, so i don't care about the vaccine, because if it's my time to go then it's my time, vaccine or no vaccine, but of course i would've think otherwise if the virus is the type who kills everyone in the vicinity.
