Do you save for emergency?

My first boss told me never to save emergency. Why? Because emergency will come. My boss said that we should save for real estate, or a car, or for education and travel... but never for emergency. What do you think? My boss right?

I have heard that also from my old relatives. They told me that when i save, i should do it just for the sake of saving. So that is what i am doing.

MY husband and me saved for any emergency. We always pray that we will spare with any harm and sickness but it's always good to have some for any emergency. You are right we can also use this for other activities like traveling, etc.

Whether we save or not for emergencies, emergencies do happen when we least expect them so it is only logical if we are prepared for them. Not saving for emergencies is not a guarantee that our lives will be "emergency free". So I beg to disagree with your boss. Better be ready that be caught unprepared. The problem is, common income hardly makes end meet and the end of the month are like "emergencies" in themselves. Mostly short and nothing left to save.

We save every week and it is just a savings account, and we use it for what ever comes up that we need it for. Weather it be for something fun or for a emergency. It is their.

I have emergencies as one of my items, but those are just small emergencies. The biggest can´t be taken care of easily. My youngest daughter who earn a good amount of money is paying for extra health insurance for her family and put me there too. It is only for catastrophic events as it has a big deductible. The house I live is mine (no mortgage) and that should help for a big emergency too. As for the rest, I hope my 1997 car lasts until I die as I have no money to replace it. I travel as far as my online earnings permit: my normal budget does not have a "travel" item. Almost two years ago I quit smoking thinking that I´d have more money to travel but those savings disappeared at the supermarket and the bills. Que sera, sera! Luck!

It is not for emergency only, but for many other reasons i save money. It really helps during the sudden appear of a need. What your boss told that his style of thinking. You think in your style.

I don't why we shouldn't save for emergencies when emergencies don't come when we're prepared for it anyway? I always save up for emergencies, but it seems that everything is an emergency these days. It's tough, but I know I should, else I'd be in a lot of trouble when emergencies do come.

I'm living on unemployment and I don't have 1 penny left at the end of the week to save anything! The right thinkers are winning, there is no more middle class left in the USA, There's the rich right thinkers and then the rest of us! Even Obama can't save us from the past GREEDY party that ran us into dirt! tdemex
