I think it would be a great experience to scuba dive in the ocean. When you go into the ocean you will be able to see beatiful fish and get up close and personal. I love to watch fish and to see them swimming right in front of my eyes would be so breath taking. Their are al type of intresting looking views in the ocean. If I ever did go scuba diving I would buy a underwater camera to take pictures of what I see. I knowscubba diving in the ocean is dangerous but it would be so worth seeing what's in the ocean down below.

Good morning! Well, I can tell you from experience - scuba diving is exciting, incredible, peaceful... it's also dangerous, scary and expensive! A few years before my son was born, I got this chance... We went while we were on vacation in the Florida Keys... It can be a life altering experience! If you are, like us, salt water fish keepers, you'll appreciate it even more. It was cool to see fish that we actully had in our tank at home! We saw Groupers and Parrot fish that were huge and so vibrant! It wasn't until AFTER we got back onto the boat that DH told me about the 4 foot long BARACCUDA that was trailing me almost the entire time! Unfortunately, we didn't think to bring an underwater camera, but it's one of those things that you never forget!

Hi Raven, Nice experience you have there! You better bring a underwater camera for your future scuba diving trip, ! For me, I never try scuba diving before. I have twice snorkeling on the surface of water but it is enough for me as I don't really know how to swim. I wore life jackets while snorkeling. I could see many fish , feed them and they even bit me. One of the fish I could see is Nemo. There are so small and cute. Some of my friends got to see some baby shark and turtle. Looking into the sea from the surface is so scary, the sea is so deep but there are many beautiful corals.

I would love the experience however I'm not so sure I would do well. My husband and I tried snorkeling once and I could not allow myself to breathe underwater. I kept holding my breath. Maybe with some practice. My husband on the other hand has always wanted to go scuba diving. I hope someday he gets the chance to do it.

scuba diving - open water diving
I have just earned my scuba diving license. Well, I am just a newbie on diving, so my license is for open water. Perhaps later on, I will be going in the ocean. But actually, diving not so deep like 60 meters is already great enough. This is where you see nice fishes and corals. If you dive to deep already, its already very dark and you cannot see much of the wonders. The sunlight cannot penetrate deep down so corals are not well develop. I have also take pictures during my dive. Its really great.

One of my favorite movies is "The Deep" with nick Nolte. In this movie he is scuba diving for treasure with jacqueline Bisset. Whenever i watch this movie, I fantasize about looking for lost treasures on the ocean floor. I would love to learn to scuba dive just to do that. I also love to watch "Out of The Blue" with Paul Walker and jessica Alba. It is another movie that romanticizes scuba diving and treasure hunting. Anytime I see any movie with scuba diving and lost treasure, it just makes me wish i were a scuba diver too. Finding treasure would be like making your part in history.

Scuba diving is one of my greatest experiences. It is one which is on my bucket list and I have managed to cross it out a decade back. It was really fun going down and swimming with the big fishes. I spent several weeks learning in a pool before we went diving. The view down there is maginificent and really, it is one that has to be seen. Here in the Philippines, we are surrounded by water because we are made up of more than 7000 islands. We have a lot of protected areas here which are really awesome. The Tubbataha Reef here in Palawan is one of the strong contenders in the new 8 Wonders of the World. It's really worth it to get away from the monitor and see the world up close and personal. By the way, I don't work in the tourism industry...

Scuba diving is one of the most costly hobby and somewhat dangerous but worth seeing. Never tried it yet but i have some friends who were instructor for scuba divers. The ocean seems to be great place to enjoy and going under it must be cool! I've experienced snorkeling, though its good too, i would love to go scuba diving when given the chance. Keep posting! yan

I went scuba diving a few years ago and it was brilliant. If you are worried about dangerous sea creatures then just go somewhere where they don't live and don't touch the animals that you see. I went in Tenerife where you don't find creatures such as sharks and the scenery down there was beautiful with so many colours and things that you simply cant see by looking down on the water. Alternatively you can go on submarine tours which i used to do every years in Lanzarote. You get to see all the animals and stay warm, dry and safe inside the sub.

Honestly while I'm sure I would love the view I would also be worried about sharks or something like what killed Steve Irwin a ray, and those things aren't even vicious. I would maybe buy a sub if I had the money, a very expensive purchase though.

Hi! Actually I scuba dived two summers ago. It's one th emost amazing things to do. Honestly, you areunderwater, no sounds, almost no people, no worries, nothing, just you and fish. And you swim around, and swim around, very slowy, because your just feeling so much peaceful. If ever you get to try scuba diving, you'll see for yourself how amazing it is, if you like fish and serenity, it's for you. Have fun!! I wish you to try it out soon!

I would love to try scuba diving some time. I like to go snokeling now. Up here in New Engalnd the water is a bit cold and thus there is not much to see, but when I go down to florida or the caribian, I always bring my snorkel gear with me. Those under water cameras work good. Last time I went snorkeling, with a friend of mine we got a lot of great fish pictures. I can just imagine how great they would have been if we could have gotten closer.

Yes I have. It looks like an amazing exciting experience being under water but I have always been afraid of the water. But I hope someday I dare to go scuba diving.
