Penny for the Guy (UK)

Are you sick of being accosted outside supermarkets etc by kids with plastic bag headed jumpers calling "Penny for the guy!" ? I know its tradition and all that but some of these kids are so young and just hang around for hours on end begging money from strangers. Maybe there should be organised events for kids to display Guys that they've actually put a bit of effort into making & collect donations - with maybe a prize for the best? Perhaps such events already exist? Maybe I'm just a Guy Fawkes "bah! humbug" ???

They should be training these kids to make counterfeit Nikes instead. There's a huge market for the product and it provides them with a trade.

Hmmm, your plan falls down on the fact that it would require a modicum of effort...

Hi Wizzywig, back in the UK I was sick of absolutely everyone accosting me for money and I'd hardly have been likely to open my wallet to anyone as the chances are they would have run off with it. No bonfire nights here.
