Anyone Do Or Enjoy Crazy Quilting or Crazy Quilts?

I've enjoyed quilts but knew that I wouldn't enjoy the precision required to make one. Then I discovered crazy quilting where you don't have to be so precise. It also includes embroidery which I learned as a child and really enjoyed doing. I've only made a pillow cover and Christmas ornaments so far. It is time consuming. I've learned enough to have a better appreciation of the ones that I've seen. So does anyone else have a special appreciation for this type of quilt or does anyone else do this?

I love quilts to. I think crazy quilts are really neat. Good for u learning how to do them. I have 3 beautiful new quilt tops that a friend of mine made & gave me. I would really love to get them quilted but it's hard to find somone to quilt plsu it's expensive.

Yes I've heard that it's very expensive to have them quilted. That's another thing I like about crazy quilts. They don't usually have the inner layer and so are tied rather than quilted.

My eyes are affecting my crafts too. I have cataracts and am waiting until they're ready for surgery. I've found that I can knit but not crochet. I don't think I could quilt now either. A few years ago I went to a senior center where there was a quilt frame set up. I enjoyed learning but had a hard time getting the stitches as small as the experienced ones. Oh well, we do what we can. And there are still plenty of things for me to do. Too many! :)

I am so in awe of those who make actual quilts. My step-mother-in-law made each of her grandchildren a quilt and I know my kids treasure theirs.
