...and this time standing for the job of eu president, along with several people i have never heard of. now obviously there are a vast number of people, animals and objects that would be better suited to this position than the blair so who/which would be your personal pick and why? ian hislop, boris johnson, a womble, a potato, a rat? let us know.

I would choose an ice-cream cone... At least, in the end, it has a point!

oh no, not a pun . anyway i think an icecream cone would indeed make a better president than the current offerings.

Ian should be in charge of a lot of things and he'd cut very well throught the Euro bs. He'll never do it of course but someone like him ought to. He's not on your list but I'd vote for Andrew Neil, no one pushes him around and he's brilliant at sticking to his own mind, a rare thing in politics. Send Boris over here and the UK would be the laughing stock of Europe.

Well Bosis just looks such a chinless cretin whilst they both are but I'd have to say Boris would make you more of a laughing stock.

very sensible choice - and probably a candidate who'll be strong on environmental stuff.

I think Balkenende is perfect for the job. He's Christian Democrat, just like the others there. He doesn't do a great job here so I would be happy if he'd join the club of money snorting, brainless, quasi-eloquent individuals. The other alternative would be Judith with her blue bunny, the bunny does it for me.
