What is the fastest way to earn money writing articles online?

United States
November 2, 2009 7:55am CST
Greetings! One of the things I like to do to earn money online is to write. I have published a few articles in magazines in years past but now I want to write online and get paid for it. I know we get paid here on myLot for participating in discussions, but it seems that this would take a lot of posts to earn any significant income. What other ways do you know about to earn writing here on myLot? Do you earn money faster writing articles for a content site or for you blog? Which content sites have you had the best success with? Thanks for your help in this! ColleenNM

Earning here on mylot can be hard if you are just starting like yourself and not knowing what to do. If you write a lot in just one response and not just a couple sentences you can earn here. Also starting a couple discussions like you have will help you earn unless you don't get any responses on them. Try responding to at least 30 responses a day her eon mylot and you will see an increase in your earnings everyday. Also i see you like to write, i also like to write and the best site for me to write articles on is associated content. They have articles on which you can choose to write about and then you can also write about your own articles when you want and publish then yourself. Its very easy on their site and i have earned a good amount on that site as it does help with your earnings. You also get paid per page views also and that helps because every three months you get paid for that. Their are also other sites such as ehow, bukisa and helium that pay you for writing, so i would check out those sites as well. There are a lot of other writing sites out there on the internet but just type in a search for free lance writing companies and that should help you out some.

Hi lologirl2021! Yes, I can see that it would take a lot of posting here on myLot to earn an income... but even without that I am already having a good time here. I only have one article up at Associated Content so far that I wrote about Photographing the Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta. I have written 9 more on various topics that I hope to put up this week. I really like the residual payout of this type of site, work once and keep getting paid. I have a few articles up on ehow which is residual as well. Thanks for all your great ideas! ColleenNM

Very well said. I certainly agree; and agree with the idea of Associated Content. Very suitable for beginners trying to look for a writing site to familiarize, before branching out. I go with this that Associated Content or AC, most call it is one of the best writing sites cool enough to try..

I don't know you can earn fast or not by writing articles. but certainly you can earn good money. If you are new to it then it can take little time to earn a significant amount. Because you need to do all the things that will bring traffic to your articles. I write articles for different sites and earn money. I have been doing it for some time and the earning is good if not huge. You can try.

Thanks for your post SouravRC... it's nice to meet a fellow writer! What sites do you write for and how to you promote your articles? I have written a lot this week and hope to put some up on Associated Content. ColleenNM

HI vinyan06! I have just discovered the tasks and have already written several articles for Sharon Bucks. The only ones there right now are on subjects that would be difficult for me, like computer network security and four line telephones. I am hoping there will be some easier ones to write tomorrow! :) Thanks for your comment.... it was very helpful... ColleenNM

Hi there. Welcome to mylot, and hopefully you'll enjoy your stay here. If you ask me, I'd say make the best out of most things. Update your blogs regularly, write for content writing sites (so far I'm on AC and Hubpages), and I'm also mingling around with friends here in the lot, which I feel is like a big cafe filled with nice people and just a relaxing place totally. If you maximize your efforts for all these sites, you'll definitely see some results. It will take a few months to take off, if you are more diligent, perhaps more faster by a month or so. If you are from US, you can definitely be eligible for the upfront payment on AC. Hope this helps yeah..

You are right.. it does rather seem like a cafe here. I am enjoying it so far... I see great possibilities of building a nice web of multiple streams of passive income -- some of it from writing -- and then traveling around the world with my laptop in tow...Of course, first I would have to buy a laptop! LOLOL I checked out your blog... you sure seem to have a wide variety of interests! WTG! ColleenNM

Thanks a lot, my friend... I do get around with posts, hehehe... but there are some blogs in which I have neglected and I'm maintaining this, and another one mostly. And the rest, sometimes. Back to the topic of having passive income. Oh yes, that would be so cool to have that kind of thing. As we go along, we might find several niches we are able to work with for sure. Hope you are able to get your laptop, aite.. The best things to do in the world IMO: writing and traveling. Awesome..

Well i dont write much myself but have alot of tips. FIrst off you can check alot of freelance sites like ifreelance.com, getafreelancer.com, or odesk.com. They have article jobs. Then there is some sites that pay you per article, but I can't remember most of the names. You can find more information though at wahm.com. Go to there forum section then scroll down under business and there is a folder labeled wahm that write. You can find info there. GOOD luck.

Thank you! So nice to have some new places to find work. Although I love the idea of residual income on sites like Associated Content and eHow, right now I just want a little cash in hand and your ideas will certainly help! Thanks for your comment, it is appreciated... ColleenNM

Colleen, You are most welcome! For those who likes to write, it is good you can try Mylot writing task. Glad to hear that you have done several of the tasks! Hope your tasks get approve soon. How much you get paid for the tasks. Sometimes Sharon Bucks will pay $2 but if you are lucky you actually can get $4 if she has got any special promotion! LOL. You check daily and you will get to see the available tasks update! I have receive an alert from Mylot saying that we need to be careful when getting the task job. If some one ask you to pay money to their pay pal so you will get the return, then please don't do that.

earn money writing articles online - earn money from writing articles online.
According to what I know, there are mnay ways that can help you to earn money through writing articles(or reviwews) online. You see, there are quite a few online companies these days that pay for articles. For example, AssociatedContent.com accepts articles on a variety of topics and pays $3 - $20 per article through Paypal. Writers can also earn $1.50 per 1000 impressions their articles receive. If you have blogs, you can try some blog paid reviews platforms, which can bring you many chances to write reviews for advisters. Of course, here, in myLot, these writing tasks are the right choice for you.

I didn't know that Associated Content paid as much as $20 upfront. Good to know! Thanks... I did buy a domain for a blog -- and actually got as far as putting up the theme and the first paragraph and then my time just seemed to disappear. It will be up eventually! LOL ColleenNM

its too bad you didnt think about this a few years ago. i find that everyone wants to earn money online with writing. when i was doing it, about 5 years ago, i was able to make a tidy sum by writing 500 word articles which i got paid $10- for. now, you only get a dollar for 500 words. its just not worth it.
• United States

Hi cher913... A dollar for 500 words doesn't sound like a fair deal to me.. but I'll keep looking. I think if I use some social networking to promote my articles then I will have better results. Of course it would probably help -- A LOT! -- if I put up some more articles! :) Thanks for joining the discussion! ColleenNM

Hi mssnow.... Thanks, I had forgotten about squidoo.. I have just one lens there but I can see it has great possibilities. Isn't it great all the opportunities we have here on the net? 20 years ago they didn't exist.... Will take a second look there. Thanks again... ColleenNM

First of all, do not take on an article writing job unless you are serious about treating it as another job. It can be very demanding and you must adhere to all deadlines, making sure your content is completely original. I am a writer, and have been writing articles for more than 4 years. I make a decent amount of money doing so. I does supplement my regular income nicely. The hardest part of being a writer is finding constant work. Once you find a client that pays well and offers work, make sure to hold on to them! They are few and far between! Good luck.

Thanks for the insight, JavaBansJ29.... My content is good, I can handle deadlines -- but my spelling? Well, thank God for spell check! :)LOL I really don't want another job...after I get through this fast money I want for Christmas, that is.... I really prefer the ongoing residual income of the sites like Associated Content and ehow. I do have a book planned though... that's another story... Thanks for your response! ColleenNM

I don't know which is the best and fastest way to make money writing. For me it is Triond since my main language is not English and it is an amateur site. But if you are good writing i would really suggest IMReportCard, there are a lot of people making huge ammounts there (100's) each month. Or also you could make a lot blogging if you are good wirter which i guess you are since you have wrote for magazines. I think the fastest weay depends of the skills we have and ist different for everyone. Good luck.

You sure can earn money if you know where to post your writings. I will agree that associated content is a good place to write. You will be paid per articles if you submit it with upfront payment and yes, you also be paid per page views.. and that is monthly for page views. I have been enjoying the little amount I received every month from AC just for my page view bonus. I am not actively writing on AC but I still earn every month. I would say, this is the best place. I am also earning in ehow.. every month even if I am not actively writing. Just put up lots of articles in these two sites and wait for your money every month. It takes time to start but when you are there, you are fine. I was paid by Hellium too. Just visit these sites and see it for yourself. Good luck.

Hi Bebs08... Thanks for sharing your experiences... You mentioned ehow, Associated Content and Helium. Which have you found to be the best for you? Part of me wants to concentrate on one site - and another part says "Don't put all your eggs in one basket!" Any thoughts on this? Thanks! ColleenNM
