Why mylot is slow for most of the time?

I am not able to post anything in mylot for about a week..When ever I try to post something, they pages seems idle for a long time and if I refresh the page then nothing is available in the box.All the typed content are disappearing. The other sites are working fine and hence we can not blame the internet connectivity also. Some time, if we hit on the submit button many times, our posts are submitted two or three times, without redirecting to the post after it is submitted once..Is this the usual happening of mylot? Will the site be always like this?I am loosing interest in the site..How to rectify this, in my part?some time the pages are going on loading for more than 10 minutes and nothing is happening if I leave it as such...Please suggest something to overcome this...After this post(If it get posted) I am about to uninstall the browser and then to install it again as a first activity to see if there any improvement...

Mylot does seem to be slower than most other sites. I think it gets even slower when one tries to open 2 or more pages at the same time. Also I think the site runs properly if we have just one page open and are working on it only.

Of course, I used to opend many pages of mylot in many tabs.But this problem is existing only in the recent days.I tried to close all the tabs except one tab of mylot page also..Even then the problem remain same..Today, its some what OK and that's why I am able to post responses and comments. I am able to work with the other sites as normal except mylot..With the doubt in my internet connectity, I cheked that with some software also..It's OK and some times,its more then the reated speed.Some time, if I submit some response,I will get posted after 10 minutes..Some time, the entire content will not be available.I need to type them again.As I don't have option to paste, I feel very hard to make posts..If I have reached 500 posts, I will not bother much about that as we have the option of pasting.We can copy the typed content and can try many times to post..Highly disappointing to me.Thanks for your participation.

oh,that sounds terrible,this will happen to me only when then internet connectivity didn't work well.i'am agree with your practise.if it still don't work
then i suggest you to have a try of changing other browsers such as Fox

It might be slow because many people will be accessing it. As many people will be accessing.

It is the well known fact that the server load is going on increasdin everyday in mylot.But it seems the server is remaining the same as like it was few years back.To meet the increased load, the server should be upgraded very soon.Otherwise, the new mambers of mylot will loose thier interest in this site.At least to avoid this, I hpe they will do the needful to make the site faster in loading.I am lossiing at least 15-20 cents everyday, as I was not able to post any response 0r dicussion Thanks for sahring your views with us about mylot.

this happens but it is not so frequent. i think just try once in different time. i think during the time you use mylot is the most loaded state of the website and due to this this takes much time in responding you.
you try in different time and check whether this happens or not. i think some time will definetly be there when this will not happen to you.

I checked in various times..Also I tried to logged in from some other systems with high speed internet connectivity..But the problem is remaining same..When compared to the past 10 days, only today is working little good.In the last week, I was not able to make more than 10 responses, I think..Most of my responses that I typed were not able to be submitted here due to this problem..As whenver the same is happening, I lost my interest to make responses in the recent days..It seems this problems will be the continuous one.There are many discussions available in this same issue.I am not able to navigate between the pages also..ONly the blank screen is getting loaded continuoulsy..But the final result is very poor..Irritating.Thanks for your response.

no dude i dont think its a browser fault . i use two browsers and face the same problem. i was a little pissed off when the content was disappearing again and again and i was tired of writing again and again . i guess we would just have to hold on until we complete the required posts . after that out copy paste option will be unblocked . so we can simply copy paste the thing again .
this thing happens daily with me and pisses me off . so before posting i clear the chache and history and temporary internet file and all . not giving any chance for the uploading to go slow. but when i forget to do this it happens again .we will just have to bear through this.

i told u there was no problem of the browser
along with this problem i also had the problem of uploading a photo in a discussion. but everytime it gave same error . the screen just vanishe and i have to write the whole thing again plus upload the photo also .i agree on the point that they should increase their server capacity or atleast keep the copy paste option available to all with posts more than 100 or 250 as u said .
other thing is if we have high speed connection may be this thing wont happen . coz my friend uses high speed connection of upto 2mbps and he never experienced this thing. or may be he just got lucky may be

Yesterday, after leaving some comments to the responses to this discussion, I uninstalled the browser along with its setting and intalled it again.Between this two, I restarted the system also.The same situation is prevailing..Now the spell checker is not working and I have to search for that also now, becase of the reinsallation of the browser.As you told, If we have the pasting option, we need not worry for that much as the retyping is entirely avoided. If we have the option of pasting at least after 250 postss, then we can make use of that.Otherwise, they should increase the server capacity to meet the heavy traffic that mylot is having or about to have in the near future..Else, the participation from the members will tend to reduce.Tabnks for sharing your views in this discussion.

I dont really think its that slow at least it dosnt bother me that its slower then a lot of sites. But I dont know why its slower then most sites could be because there is so much traffic that would be my only guess why my lot is slower then a lot of other sites.

This might be the fact..The server of mylot is not withstanding the load of the increased users. We are able to see 100s of dicussions or responses are posted every hour.Even the members are not making posts, many of the membrs are at least reading the others discussions are posts which will also inrease the load to the server.This problem is wiht the mylot only..SOme time it will happen to trek pay also to me..The all the other sitesa are wroking well.My internt connectivy is fine in these days..Mylot had worked well in the past, when the internet connectivity was very poor. But now there is no any problem in the internt connectivity, with my computer or with my browser..I tried with other computers also..The site is not loading well.IF they recitify this problem, I will paritcipate in more discussions.Thanks for sharing your opinion with me.

I haven't had any problems with mylot really although I am sure that it running slow has to do with all the people that are on the site at one time. It is like that with any site when it gets busy with people, I am sure that it is also like that with mylot. I have noticed that the later it gets the faster the responses seem to go through. I just wait and will usually have an extra tab open so I can still surf the web while I mylot even if it decides to run slow.

I haven't had any problems all that much. It could be your browser, as some browsers work better with mylot than others do. I use Internet Explorer, as with Firefox, things load up faster, but I have found that when I am typing, the words don't appear immediately, as it lags badly, so I really don't use it for myot. I guess I am just used to IE, even though it isn't all that great a browser. I have been able to submit my posts pretty much, and I am glad for that. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

I tried with Internet Explorer also..The same condition. I tried with some other sytem also.No improvement found.If I am not having this problem, I will participate in more discussions.If I have reached 500 posts, then I can copy the content so that retyping can be avoided..Once I thought to reach the 500 posts, by simply making one line posts. But I don't like to make such useles respones.I unistalled the Forefox and reinstalled it also. I was not able to find any improvement in the loading still.Now , only in the few hours, the site is getting loaded well when compared to the earlier days..Else I can not even ask or discuss about this with the members to know the fact.Fortunatley I am able to post today.I lost lot of interesting topics in the last one week..I hope the same situation will not continue..Thanks for sharing your opinion with us.

We it could be your computer has too much stuff running and that is slowing it down.The other thing that it most likely is,is that since MyLot gives you cash for using their site their severs are running a little slow because of the surge of traffic.

Well, mylot is indeed slower compared to any other sites. Maybe the admins should consider this for future maitainance. Well, as for me, it is slow but I not as extreme as yours. I am a very impatient person, so I use my mobile browser instead of using computer when accessing mylot. Sometimes I wonder why yahoo! Answers which has more traffics than mylot can load faster? Lol. World is indeed full of mysteries :p

The page loading might entierely depends on the server capacity and the number of members who are accessing the site in a time..The yahoo answers may have the better configuration for their servier to meet their traffic.In mylot, most of the members are inactive after their registration on seeing the complicated proceudres..Additionally if is has thid problem also, then the new members will not come back again to participate.The site sholld be very ease in the access.But unfortunately, mylot is failing in that.We are nearing the 200000th member in mylot and the system should have the capability of withstanding the loads. Even the email notificatiions are not working well and it is taking more time to reach our emil id in bix. Let us beileve the mylot will do the better in this issue.Thanks for sharing your opinion.

I tried with some other computers..I cheked the Internt speed with some software..Everything is fine..I am able to work with the other sites without any problem.But I am not able to work with mylot normally.Also there are many discussions about the slow loading of mylot here..It seems that it is happening occasionally and also it seems that it is time dependent.Thanks for your repsonse.
