Why one add one is two, do you have any anwers for children?

Once ,my younger brother's little daught ask me ,why one add one is two.I think a long time but still don't know how to anwer , finally i tell her to ask her father,my younger brother don't know ,either,so he said one add one is two is right,that it.but why ,god knows .Many times i don't know how to anwer childen's questions ,like how i find him when he was young,and which star is more bright ,i have no idea.What about you ,do you experence anything like that ,do you know how to tell them .Looking forward you anwers.

That's it ,children have many questions,some question that we never think it.It's hard to answer it.but we can't hurt children's heart,we should never say that what's question you ask.it's so funny,we should say how good question it is.but how we answer for some question,for example which star is more bright?What we just can do is to led children to think.Teaching someone to do something is easy,but teaching how to do is hard.This need to be think.
