Sometimes it's hard to find clothes for a petite girl to wear when she wants to look taller. I read somewhere that you should wear vertical stripes to elongate your body and provide an illusion that you are leaner and taller. what do you suggest?

a petite girl looks good in vertical stripes.also, show a lot of legs.shorts are your best bet.worn with heels, they create an illusion of height.wear high heels or high wedges.also, don't grow your hair too long.it will make you look shorter.

I am 5' foot tall myself, and a fashion designer and sewing teacher. You should wear clothes are are straight legged and fall from the widest part of your hip into a straight line to the floor. This means that bootleg pants are your enemy! They make the fabric go in at the knee and out at the ankle which shortens the leg. Also, monochromatic outfits help you look longer and taller. Jeans and clothing that is fitted rather than big and baggy or having alot of volume are best suited for slimming and elongating the frame. Never ever wear sideways stripes, cuffed pants, or clothing that is oversized because they will all shorten your frame. Darker colors make you look thinner, lighter colors make you look larger.

Please pray that stripes become trendy. As vertical stripes do make a petite belle look tall! But unfortunately stripes are now on the back burner. How about you trying to set a trend and go for stripes instead After all who are these trend setters.Even free flowing maxis could help one look tall specially self coloured ones Dont forget to wear stilletos and wear your hair in a pony tail tucked pretty high. AND MOST IMPORTANT TALK TALL!!!
