Gather points not growing

Ok, what is up? I know I have not exactly been active for a while, but several times in the past couple weeks I have posted comments on gather and my point balance has not grown. I had over a thousand points so I cashed some for a Borders gift card. I wanted to boost the balance and earn another card before the holidays but nothing is happening with my points. Anyone know what is up with this?

Gather is a site where you can post anything for the most part and earn points. In some ways it is easier to earn than at myLot but the sites serve a totally different purpose in my opinion.
It has been compared to My Points, though I can't see the comparison there either. Points used to be updated fairly quickly and I have not seen an increase for days.

I am trying my hand at Marketplace titles. I did one that I am waiting to hear about and now I am tossing around ideas for three others. I can't seem to get into the groove today. I guess I have been staying up too late at night.

I am new to the site and have figured out you have to pretty much constantly be posting, well maybe not constantly, but I think the same rule applies there as it does here, commenting or responding helps a lot. Don't take my word on it though, but I think that does help a little. Also, are you posting the same thing to several groups? I think I've read the more exposure on that site the better.

I haven't been on gather lately, so I don't know if the point thing has changed or not, I hope it's starting to accrue again.

Well at first it seemed they were only doing it once per month. Now it seems like you get a point per day! My energies are better focused on helium right now.

That was never an issue in the past. And, I posted a lot recently only to have it not seem to matter. This happened right after I cashed in some of my points. I am not going to keep posting only to not have my points accrue. I only need another 200 or so to get another reward so believe me I would have been in there daily were it not for this point thing.

I feel the same way. I am creeping slowly toward my goal, but it does seem like it takes forever to get anywhere these days at Gather. I think a lot of folks (including myself) have slacked off from Gather since the points drop. I noticed that they didn't have the photography contest this summer like in other years. I guess it's all a belt-tightening so that they can hang on through the bad economic times.
I did go over and post an article recently, and there were hardly any comments. During normal times, there would be 20 or so without trying. Nowadays, it's just the diehards left over there. People like you and I have a real challenge making it to payout anymore.

I just don't have the time to put into Gather for it to really pay off. I spend time in myLot networking with you and the gals on writing stuff when we're not all furiously typing up our articles. My offline life limits how much time I can put into this stuff and Gather just is low on the priority list. I did a bunch of comments recently though and my number has not increased at all.

I am not sure about that. I don't know that many people who use it so I don't know where all of their members live.
