The world is a large place and I sometimes wonder if I will be able to see every country that I wish to. I am so lucky because I have already traveled to over 50 different countries. I have learned about poverty in South Africa, animals in Australia, religion in Israel and rivers in New Zealand.
Has traveled helped you learn something about the world? If so what have you found out?

There is a Chinese proverb that says it is better to travel ten thousand miles than to read ten thousand books.
Even with today's advance technology, one can learn about the culture, see the landmarks, hear the sounds on television, and even interact live through the internet with people from different places but not feel the local weather, touch and mingle with the people, smell and taste the food with the ambience. Moreover, the impression can never be deeper than getting them first-hand and what can be written or captured on film is limited.

There are 193 countries with a quarter belonging each to Africa, Asia, Europe and America with Oceania. Though it is not possible to visit all the countries because some countries have no diplomatic ties with mine while others are difficult to get a visa, I've only been to 8 in Asia.

50 different countries??? WOW, you're so lucky! How did you get to travel a lot? Was it all for pleasure? Anyways, what I learned from my travels was all about different cultures. I got culture shocked it was unbelievable but I got over it and I learned how to accept other people's beliefs. I think it was an important contribution for me to grow intellectually and view the world from other people's eyes.

Hi Maximax. I haven't been in other countries yet but I do travel around my country. My term for it is that I am a tourist in my own country. lol. Anyway, the greatest lesson I have learned during my travels in the Philippines is how great and beautiful my country is. I can somehow say that even though we are a third world country, our sites are world class and our people are very hospitable and friendly. Maybe we are poor but we are not poor in spirit and I think everyone in my country should travel in their own country first before traveling in other countries to learn this valuable lesson.

I love travelling too. I have travelled quite a number of countries too. I am going to do it next year again. May be this time to South Africa, Turkey, Alaska, New Zealand (South) and many more. I like to learn about the different culture and see God's creation. May be you like to share which other countries I should visit next.
