I hate going to the dentist. I wish they would put me to sleep. Novacaine is fine, however, the needle they give the novacaine with is painful. The entire ordeal is painful and frightening. I would rather not if I had a choice.

Hi there yeah well here we go Dentist. I work for a Dentist. Everyone hates going but what I find in my office the people that go every four months and get thier teeth cleaned thats about all they have to do. For some reason people have made going to the Dentist a bad experience and that is because if you wait until something hurts you will need a more invasive procedure to stop the pain. Dentistry is suppose to be preventive brush floss and see your dentist every four months and you won't have to every be afraid or pay out the big bucks for major treatment.

i'm not afraid of it, i just don't like it! But it's not so much the pain, of cause it's not very nice, but i can live with that! It's most because it's soooo expensive, so i hate to pay sometimes about 150$ just for one visit :S

There are a lot of reasons to be afraid to go to the dentist but not only for the pain... sometime is also for the money (big money) that you have to spend with him.

I hate going to the dentist, and only go if its an emergency. I had to have a tooth pulled a few years ago and I was pregnant with my twins at the time so I couldnt have the same amount of pain killers...that was NOT fun!

I used to be,as i'd had a bad experience at one dentist.I wouldn't go for years, then one day i had an abcess, and it was that bad i couldn't eat or drink. I was made to feel extremely comfortable and at ease,My dentist was very easy going. I had to have the tooth with the abcess beneath it removed, and i was shaking like a leaf.Dentist guessed i was scared by the way i was clinging to the chair. I was asked what pre-anaestic i wanted,i was given a choice,so i opted for a pina colada, while this was working,i was given the actual jab,and i didn't even know it was being done.About 20 minutes later, the tooth was pulled, and i never felt a thing, apart from a slight tugging. Even though my dentist is good,i still hate them. I suggest you go and get it sorted before it turns into something worse.

I am more than terrified of the dentist. I will suffer for months until I finally decide to go. I had an appt. to have a cavity replaced almost a year ago and I'm still trying to get enough courage to reschedule my original appt. I have the hugest fear of the dentist. She makes me want to cry!

For general check up and prescription/advice we can go. But if there any removal process, I'll be the first person to run off!

No, not at all. I don't like going but I don't hate it either - I deal with it just like I deal with going to the doctors when I have to!

I am absolutely terrified of the dentist. I literally have panic attacks and freak out. Thats why I have to be knocked out in order to even have a cleaning or check up.

I am terrified of the dentist. He wants me to have my wisdom teeth out, but I'm putting it off until they hurt. Ouch! Who wants to have teeth yanked out? I'm also terrified of needles... so the novacaine part could have something to do with why I'm so afraid.
