Do you do your homework?

I thought college was going to be a breeze, considering I only have 53 minute classes, and four of them a day. But the homework is getting me. Actually, I can't say that. I don't even do my homework. I just pass all of the tests with flying colors. Do you think my grade will still be good by just doing tests and not doing the homework? That's probably going to be a no. I don't pay for the college so hey, I guess this semester is just a test to see if I can actually pass without doing homework. When it's over we will see what that answer is. But do you guys do your homework? How do you keep up with everything like having a job and family and friends AND school? I am getting pretty over-whelmed!

What kind of punishment are we talking about here?

I never did my homework when I was at school and I did not do it when i am at college and I am not doing it now when i am a teacher. I don't think it is necessary to do homework to get success at class but it is necessary to check what has been said and done today everyday.

My friend, you are one lucky person. When I was in college homework is usually done in a 7-day duration because it entails a lot of research. If we were lucky we were given homework that can be done by groups because of monetary involvement.

Dang! I do feel lucky...I don't think I could do what you are doing, not at all. Props to you though, keep it up. Let's hope I can keep up too.

I always have a homework. Even I'm no longer a student but still I assigned myself a useful workload everyday. Unlike students, they have homework depending on what the teacher's gave them. If the teachers fail to give them homework they will go around and doing useless things.

I have a useful workload for myself everyday as well, but they are things that I'm interested in. The homework for classes I'm not interested in is just a waste of time for me, because my attention is gone.

Yes I did my homework promptly during my schooldays only. But i enjoyed a lot only in the college days. It's not much difficult to manage the homework , u can simply copy it from ur friends.. :-))

None of my friends do their homework!!! Otherwise I would copy off of them. But...I also don't like cheating. So, I'd rather just not do it. But I am right now, so don't you worry ;]

I do homework all the time, term papers, quizzes, examinations, etc. I am not that bright, not stupid about a B/C person. Next semester I will be doing labs and clinicals and will have much on hands in the classroom and then book work after class, so needless to say I will have to do homework and maybe alot, maybe alittle but I will have to study to get my good scores and GPA. It sounds like your a pretty smart person and do not need to study. Though when classes get harder I would hope you would study or atleast look over the chapters/books. I do not pay for my schooling either, but I still like to see good grades and a good GPA for my transcripts. Good Luck to you....and by the way.....would you like to do mine? :))

Yeah, I think I'm finding out that not doing my homework is not the brightest idea. So, next semester I will be doing it, haha. I charge a fee for homework :p I actually do my friends homework for money instead of my own. Pretty bad, but thanks for the input!

....Hi there chickenteeth, Cute name, welcome to the ranch. Well I must say, from your comments, you must be especially smart. If you are passing all your tests that's impressive. When I was in school, the teachers always added a point or two to our grade if we did the homework assignment. In addition, doing your homework shows the teacher you have no problem following instructions, it's not just about turning in the assignments. The tests might also relate to the homework assignment and if you didn't do it, then you have no reference. Good luck to you. Sounds like you are doing very well in college. Manage your time and you will do even better. Take care.

Well thank you! I wanted to use an oxymoron for my website, so I chose this name...haha. Yeah, I am actually doing homework for the first time right now as we speak! I only have a month left, but I'm sure I can bring all my grades up to at least B's so I can keep my scholarships. Thanks for the kind words!

Hi codris: that's exactly what i think about this. It's simple: if you know that you have to do something in your university you have to do it in time, no excuses. It's not all about recognition, it's else that you have to improve your skills for your own future. We all have a lot of work when we have dreams to make come true and projets. If we want to make them real it's all about attitude and a lot of work, there's nothing free in this world. Hope everything is going alright in your projets for your university. Have a nice day.

I feel you. My parents used to ride me about homework...still do actually. However, now I just don't listen because I am 18, but sometimes I think I should listen. I am talking about it with someone, I'm asking all of you for help! haha! I even actually took a break today from everyone and everything and I feel a lot more empowered and I think I feel like i'm putting some things in place, you know? Thanks you were a lot of help!

I'm only in high school, but I'm taking a bunch of AP classes, so I sort of get your drift. It seems like I'm getting lazier and lazier as the year goes by, though, and I really don't feel like doing any of the work. So sometimes I slack off..... not a good thing. I want to graduate top of my class, and have a 4.12 GPA right now, but I know it's going to be gone soon because I just skipped a load of classes last week and I haven't done any homework for almost two weeks. I can't wait until my mom finds out!

Alot of the classes the homework counts towards your grade...so it might help but if your already A's ing all the tests then maybe you;l do just fine. your lucky. i have to do the homework too keep my grade up, i'm not good at remembering things and learning things from books. i dont like college, i'm just so happy i am finally in my last semester. i manage ok with time management but like i said i dont like school so my grades do suffer. i pass all my classes but not all with high grades.

You are so lucky that you are on your last semester, but also that you do your homework!! I wish I wasn't so lazy. Sometimes I even forget to do my homework. My multi-tracked mind is the culprit! But good luck with your last semester :}

Depending on how your professor uses your homework towards your grade, it is possible to not to homework and still get a good grade. In one of my classes the homework is only worth 10% of my grade so I could get away with not doing it but still, the homework helps the understanding on the course material so it's still beneficial from doing it.

You know my friend. Homework is one of the activities in school to test your ability and perseverance. Even do you pass all the test or exams it doesn't mean you get the higher grades. Because as you can say here. You did not make any of your homework meaning your not capable of getting higher grades because of your disobedience that reflect your good moral character...I advice you to study hard to make your study doing well and get higher mark up...Have a nice day!

If doing your homework stops you from doing good on the tests and also stops you from having a life then you shouldn't be doing the homework, unless its a project worth 20% of your mark then you might think about doing it.

I don;t like to do but homeworks are good for exams cause even when you not prepared well then you can write something remembering. homework is best to gain good marks but over doing that also is boring. little is enough means have to rad what taught in college.

the homework is just a mothod to test whether we have kown the knowledge well and give us a further thought .so if you feel that you have got the knowledge it is not necessary to do homework. i usually copy it from other's .

I'm home-schooled and don't have a lot of homework in the proper sense of the word. But any extra activities I either try to get done the SAME day as they're assigned (if possible) or wait until the very last minute. I can't seem to find that balance xP
