What would a male need mascara for? Why is he using it?

I noticed that when I would go into the freezer to get something out of there, my brother-in-law would have a tube of mascara sitting on the bottom shelf of the freezer. Tell me, what would he need mascara for. I know with us females, we use it on our eyelashes. When he uses it, he takes it in the bathroom with him. I have also seen it in his cosmetic bag as well. Why would a male need mascara? I am not trying to be rude, but I thought that mascara was only utilized by females only. Please someone, tell me something new. Am I missing something here? Enlighten me a bit...

You need to ask him direct, if you want the right answer. I never heard of anything like this. Does he know that you are aware of it? Perhaps he likes to wear it in the closet, if you get my drift? Good luck finding out.

Presumably you haven't noticed his eyelashes getting longer? If he is starting to get grey hair, he may be just covering it with mascara. Of course, what he does with it is really none of your business but, if you really feel the need to know why dont you just ask him?

He's probably using it for the same reason women use it. Mascara defines your eyelashes and makes them look longer, and that makes a person look a little better whether they're a man or a woman. I have this friend who has really dark and long eyelashes, and I sometimes wonder if he's wearing mascara or if they're naturally like that. I wonder this because if they're natural then I hate him - any woman would kill to have eyelashes like his. Whether they're natural or due to make-up, he looks really good and his eyelashes draw attention to his amazing blue eyes.

Now I've never heard of putting mascara in the freezer. That just seems really odd as I've gone camping and it's gotten really cold and it's been near impossible to use it cold. I would understand if he was graying and wanted to cover it up. Beauty product makers like Avon make root touch up kits that wash out that look like mascara. Maybe gently bring it up? Or be like "does anyone know why there's mascara in the freezer?"

Maybe for grey hair if he has any. On other hand maybe he uses it in his eyes like women. Have you noticed any difference about his eyes? Women use it to make their eyes look bigger so I suppose men can as well.

Hi Cream97 I have a question for you, you ask why he would be using mascara but you havent explained why he would be carrying a cosmetic bag in the first place. I personaly have no problem with guys that wear make up of any kind, I mean there's nothing wrong woth people expressing themselves, if that what he's doing. You might just mention that you seen him with and politely ask him if he wears it or what does he do with it as I doubt anyone here can truley enlighten you as what he does with it. If he makes up a story about what he does with it then just figure that he's not ready to talk about it. Hugs, Tianna

Either he's into acting and that's simply part of his makeup before the camera or he's into extracurricular activity on the weekends? I have no idea. The best way to find out is to ask him, sweetie. Just ask him in a nonjudgmental way and he should be comfortable about telling you. Purrs, Catwoman=^..^= & Mija

Maybe he wants longer, thicker lashes. Did you ever consider asking him? It was a trend in the 1980s and a lot of guys used it. They used eyeliner too, though I can't imagine why he keeps it in the freezer.

I think the man has female hormones in his body and turning into a gay... Its no harm if he uses that and he should be left by his own.. may be he might also use women s clothes in future days...

I don't think a man would use mascara on his eyelashes as us women do. But I know mascara is used on the skin to make fake tattos, I do that too, so maybe that's for what he uses that too!

It would really depend on his purpose of using it. Maybe he is indeed using it to cover grey colored lashes... or maybe he just wants to have his own fashion sens... maybe something like black style (gothic).

I guess he was using it to cover up grey hairs. I know guys use the eyebrow pencil for that and mascara I guess would do the job more easier. Freezing the mascara may help easy application on to hairs.

Lmfao. My friend is going to kill me for this one. The other day my friend called me up telling me that she didn't know where her mascara had been going. She says that all of a sudden she was running out way sooner than expected. So one day she asked her husband about it. He then replied asking if it was the stuff in the orange tube like thing with a round brush. She told him yeah. She said he turned red and then said that he thought she bought it for him to touch up his grays. I thought it was hilarious and could picture him in the mirror actually trying to do just that. =)
