I had this mannerism before when i was very much younger to have this slouched shoulder . i of course didn't notice that it was they way i walk but people just noticed it and so i tried to change it bit by bit. still i am guilty sometimes that i walk that way but not that often cause i often remember now to check my posture and see if i do walk straight. but sometimes i feel i over do it. cause my walking does not seem natural. like i feel people look at me like i am trying to imitate a cat walk when i do a walk. but of course that is not my intention. i just want to make sure i have right posture. before i usually had my head down and shoulder slouch because of lack of confidence and i felt so down when people really criticized me not because of posture but because of some personal reasons. and i felt somehow affected by people's comments and bad feelings towards me that i end up bowing my head when walk and with slouched shoulder.

I could not explain in detail as you say it-- the way i walk. i simply walk with confidence and project a friendly smile and a happy feeling.
I greeted people that i met and appreciated everything in sight. I don't want to stress myself with the negativities and eyesores on the street because i already have so much stress in my life -- so i just enjoy life and the walk.

yes there are so many problems out there that we don't want to be affected by them any more specially we have too much problem already in our lives. walking in confidence is important but many times i just try to confident though that is not what i am feeling inside. i do that in the hope if i act confident that i can build my confidence inside and so i can have better attitude in life. i am hoping that if i try to work good feeling outside and inside that i can be able to face life more courageously and can have better attitude towards life and be able to make better decisions in life and in the end make my life normal and happy again.

yes. your posture speaks so much about you and what's happening inside you. create that positive feeling and you you be projecting positive energies and feelings too and courageousness in facing life's challenges is one of them. You can make it. Just believe in yourself!

hi hotsummer
well it is true that people sometimes notice the way we walk, but honestly i have to say i haven't thought about myself walking, at least not though much about it, i think people should not just assume so many things just by the way we walk, okay it says something about us but it is way we feel comfortable walking, even i walk mostly looking down, i guess people who like to prejudge come out with something about us just by looking at our posture... i never had someone tell me anything like that, but i think we should be better off with the way we are comfortable with, well hotsummer like you said they also commented you for some personal reasons so then i guess it has more to do than just by the way you walk, not many people think like that just by the way we walk.

yeah our posture will tell something about us and so it is important to walk properly. and even sit straight and proper.

yes i am more conscious in some situations where i need to act more confident and proper position. i know it feels sometimes that we are just acting but i just hope that given some time i will not feel i am not myself just because i do try to act some confident posture.

yes that is right, but i wanted to say that it is better to be yourself, if we try and always try to be more conscious and sit upright and all it cannot get any comfortable for us, and sometimes like you said it gets a little awkward if we overdo it at times... even i am like this but i find it more comfortable to be the way i am.. just be more careful when you have someone important around, in such situations i am more alert about my postures...

Hello there hotsummer, well i always walk with my borws coutched or head up, its such an irritating pose to do so, but i dont really get a fact of it very soon. I get reminded later that i am walking like one and then i adjust myself to normal position..Though i dont walk stooped or bend i walk straight.

yeah, it is hard to walk with slouched shoulder or head too high. ha ha. i think that just a normal posture is fine.

Hi Hotsummer,
People just advised that the walking will reflect their mind inside. Somebody will be with head down if they are meditating ; somebody will have their inferiority complex if they walk with head down and slouched shoulder.
I am not a confidence girl and simetimes walk without looking forward and worried that people around will stare at me directly. I have a bad habit that I walked with the slouched shoulder. Surely I did not carry a full-lengh mirror in front, my friends just told me that.
Every time they told me on this, I will intentionly straight my should upright, but once there is nobody reminding, I will keep the same.
Have a nice day.

you are very right in saying it is either inferiority complex or just thinking something like meditating that is why people walk head stoop down.

Have a nice day.
