What do you think is funny?

I think a lot of things are funny. It sounds like you might think it is wrong to laugh when a person falls or trips. I think it can be in some cases. Like if they get hurt then of coarse it is not funny. But at the right moment if a friend falls then sometimes we both laugh. I think things that happen naturally and may be somewhat embarrassing can be funny some times. Maybe not always if you are the one at the butt end of the joke as they say. But it is funny afterwards if you see your self in pictures or video. Especially those people who win money for it and stuff. Well great topic!

hi hilldog I think a person who laughs when a person falls or trips has spaghetti in his head instead of brains. maybe he has never been in an emergency room and seen what has happened to a lot of people who have fallen or tripped. nobody was laughing when I tripped and fell on my way to eat breakfast out. nobody,instead one kind person called the paramedics who took me to the hospital,it was not funny at all. I broke my left shoulder so badly that I had to have surgery and have an artifical shoulder joint inserted. no it was never funny,not one iota. I love clever wit and randomness that is funny.

That depends on if you mean in person or on shows or events. Examples of physical comedy such as Charlie Chaplin, Harold Lloyd or Bean are funny and I find most of their sketches hilarious. I am not a fan of the hidden camera shows (eg Candid Camera) for some reason I have never found it very funny. I enjoy standup which requires wit and I enjoy comedy that requires some thought. I do laugh at myself when I fall etc if I don't hurt myself, I don't laugh at other people generally when they fall, I tend to wince as I feel their pain. My family though we will tease each other mercilessly, but without malice the problem with finding something funny is that I like to laugh with people not at people.

Well, I think it is okay if the person who fell or tripped did it to be funny or silly and they are both laughing. It is okay if they both laugh. But it is not okay if the person is really hurt or if it was not meant as a joke. The only people who laugh at the pain of others would be juveniles or malicious people. I know that in schools children will usually laugh at things like this. A few examples include when we were watching a movie in classroom. They laughed when a man had a heart attack and fell down the stairs, and this was not a comedy movie nor was it meant as a joke. They said it was just a movie and that's why they laughed, but I didn't understand because I didn't think it was funny. Another time was when a teacher was telling us how a student got hit by a bus. Everyone laughed here, too. Really, I think it is okay to laugh at these things if it is meant as a joke. But times when people are really hurt, I still see other people laughing. What I think is funny includes several silly things, but it also needs to be clever too. It needs to make some sense and not be totally childish.

I don't think it is fun to see others fall. We should not bulid up our happiness on other sadness. To me just seeing some movies like Mr. Bea is funny.
