Hi Chaitra! You yourself are like a nice pearl, then why do you want to buy artificial pearls on-line.. Honestly speaking, I have no idea about buying pearls on line. To be frank, I refrain from buying anything on-line. You never know about the genuineness and quality. However, if you go to market and buy a product, you can judge its quality and you can ask various questions and cross questions from the showroom saleswomen/dealer. You see ours is hard earned money so we prefer to buy those products on which we could rely and those could be lasting enough to give us our money's worth. You may take a decision after receiving other responses.

Chaitra! To my mind, it could be risky proposition. It is better to be safe than feel sorry later. You can help him buy pearls from the market, if you and he are at the same place.

Hi Chaitra, It seems all of a sudden you become rich and start to use the pearl. I don’t have any idea about the pearl, dear. I won’t suggest for online purchase too. Why can’t you go for a shop nearby so that you will get suggestions from the customer support department? There must be nice people and will educate you about the advantage and disadvantage or which is good and which bad. Thanks for sharing you are going to buy pearl.

chaitra001, I think you need to be aware that there Is No Industry-Wide Standard Pearl Grading System - currently and yet to come. As with any other item that can appear in a wide variety of shapes, sizes, colors and conditions, a standardized system of grading must be used when purchasing or selling pearls. Only in this way can the pearl be described according to mutually agreed-upon and understood terms, so that both buyer and seller can determine a fair price. So, there is no way and no telling that you can get good quality pearls online, when there is no knowing of your seller's reputation and the authenticity and quality of his pearls. Pearls are very diversified in the feel, shapes, colors, sizes and whether it suits the wearer or not is individualistic too. So, I would not advise you getting them online than visiting a reputable jewelry shop in your country, which is really more reassuring. Hope you reconsider if you are for buying this online. Take care.

Hi chaitra Do not buy pearls online. How can we know that it is genuine. If it turns out to be a duplicate one, we can not claim for refund. Where as if you buy in a reputed shop, we will be given a voucher with which we can prove that we have bought it from him only and can claim with right royal if it turns out to be a duplicate one. Since the shopkeeper is giving a bill, he will also do not cheat or forced to refund if he cheats.

Hi, The original pearls you can find in Hyderabad.. but i don't think that it is safe and good to buy it online.. Even many of the jewelery outlets in Bangalore have good pearls and gems... if you give me some time than i can refer you 2 outlets where we found the original quality of pearls for my sister.

Hi chaitra Dont buy the pearls online. They will cheat you. You get the pearls pure one in hyderabad or in bangalore, In bangalore i have heard people buy it in hyderabad and sell it here. There are jewellery shops in bangalore where they sell this pearls. The pure pearl will be always in pure white and they will be in round and as well as oval.

I don't have much knowledge about pearls..but i would like to advice you not to buy costly tings online..specially when you are far away from the site owner...i mean if the site is from other country you should be careful...coz once you lose the money it hard to recover..so its better to buy it from local places..i think you live in south India...where you get very nice quality of pearls...why to go far when the thing is near you?

Hi chaitra! I don't think its good for your friend to buy online. This way, she will never know if the description of the pearl is really true. I, myself love pearl and i used to buy it in Boracay. A lovely paradise in my country. Most of Muslims (became my friends) are the one selling it since they have lots of it in Mindanao, a place in the Philippines. I don't recommend you to visit our country though Anyway, one way that you can test the Pearl and to make sure it is real is simply by biting it. If there is no change on the texture and its color, then its real. Another way is by putting it in the fire, or simply lit it. If it dissolves by any means, then you can tell that its not true.

Not sure but be careful, a few tricksters are online. Can't you find a registered jeweller who sells pearls online?

You know, I have wondered this same thing. I know how expensive pearls can be and that is why I am so confused as to how there are so many cheap pearls online. It seems especially pearls from Chinese sellers are the cheapest and I always wonder if there is something fake or wrong with them. However, I have bought some pearls off ebay and while they are a little off-round and imperfect, they are very pretty for someone who is not a collector and they were extremely cheap. As far as I know, they best way to test a pearl to see if it is real is to run it across your teeth. If you feel a slight "grittiness" to the texture, then you know it is real. This is due to slight natural variations in the nacre, I've read. If it feels totally smooth to your teeth, then it is probably fake.
