Hi everyone! I just would like to know how many of you fellow parents ever dealt with your child being attached to a blanket?!?!? My daughter loves her blanket so much that she even kisses it! She cries when I wash it! And has a need to take it everywhere! So how many of you, been through this? Or something similar!?

I am. We are really similar in almost all way. My daughter loves her blanket a lot. She named it "D" i don't know why. She take it anywhere. She keeps on hugging and kissing it. Even sometimes she asked us to kiss it also... Good thing that I bought three pieces of the same kind of blanket with three different colors, so I could wash it anytime because I have some extra replacements. She is not really choosy with what is the color, what matters was the texture. She like it much when it is just new laundry and ironed. I hope she will get over it before she reach six years old. she is still now about two years old.

Hi Jnd! Well. My daughter likes her blanket! You are lucky that your little one doesn't worry about the same color! My daughter notices if it is the new one I tried replacing it with! Don't worry she will let it go! I think that they all do in time! My daughter calls her blanket Blankie! Thanks for responding!

That would really be a problem. So that means you could not wash it if she is around for she would not allow? Or how do you do the washing so she could still have it anytime she wanted it? Coz I notice my daugher would grab the banket though it is already in the laundry, or was hang to dry up. She would really grab it and wanted to keep it even if she still have one same blanket on her other hand.LOL It is really hard to understand sometimes why kids really love someting so much. That banket is her comfort item.

My son doesn't kiss his blanket but he wouldn't be able to go to sleep without it! He has to have it whenever he lays down, thankfully he doesn't freak out anymore when I wash it. He use to and I just explained to him that I had to give the blanket a bath just like he takes a bath and he would be okay with that! lol now he has a Sock Monkey stuffed animal that he always has with him, I don't let him take it out of the house though. But when we are at home he always has that silly monkey with him!! It isn't even cute to me lol so I don't get why he would have picked it out in the first place, but whatever it makes him happy!

Hi Crys! Well your lucky that he at least lets you wash it! I tell my daughter the same thing, about her blanket needing a bath, but she just says okay and walks over to the tub!!! She can be a little stubborn at times! lol. So your little boy is into a sock monkey now? Aw.. The darnedest things make our little ones happy! As always thanks for responding my BFF! lol. Have a nice day!

Hi Keza! Lol. That is so funny that you say that! My daughter rubs her nose with her blanket when she is tired too! I thought she was the only one that did this! Well, at least my daughter stopped taking it outside with her, but when we do go somewhere for a long period of time, I always make sure to bring it with us! Thanks for responding!

Your sharing remind me of my niece's blanket. :) She loved it so much and doesn't allow my sister to wash it. And yes, she rubbed her nose too whenever she was tired... haha. My sister had to bring it together with her wherever they go. This habit continued till my niece was 10 yrs old. One day she lost it when she brought her blanket with her during a school camping. She cried for few days. After that she didn't ask for blanket anymore... :)

My kids each have a winnie the pooh tied fleece blanket. (Different characters, DS1 is Pooh and Piglet, DD is Eeyore, DS2's is all the characters chasing fireflies.) They also each have a bear--Chocolate, Strawberry, and Vanilla. (lol, I helped name them, DD was a newborn, DS was barely 2, and then when the third one came along, well, I found this little cream bear and the other kids had Chocolate and Strawberry...) There was awhile when DD was a baby that Chocolate went everywhere with us, but he stayed in the van. DS1 just turned 5, and he has to have the blanket, the bear, plus a Snoopy and his Snowden snowman he got from my grandma to sleep with. But only at home--we've gone on vacation without the crew. There was awhile when it was a little Caillou doll too. the only thing I did was make a rule that the thing of the moment could ride with us in the car, but it could not go in places with us--saved the possibility of losing it!

HI Momo! Wow! That is a large crew you got there! lol. Well, I have been telling my daughter to leave her blanket at home... So far she has listened in the last few days! She will just ask for it when we are out for a long period of time. When we do get home, that is the first thing that she runs too! Its cute for now! Thanks for responding!
