Have you done things you regret doing?

I think we all do things we regret later and would like to go back in time and fix it. Many times to talk about it makes us feel better. I regret leaving my mom to go to another country and when I went back her hair was already white. Even though I left again and always when I went to visit my country not so often she wanted me to stay but I always left. The last time I went she said, "please don't leave me this time". I stayed but she had a series of three heart attacks and died. When she was dying she gave me a very sad look that pierced my heart. Oh, how I regret not enjoying my sweet mother and showing her how much I loved her. sob..

Hi, Seastar! I don't think any of us can get through life with no regrets. I try, as most people do, to do the right thing. We are only human, though, and are prone to error now and then. You didn't mean to hurt your mother's feelings; you were pursuing your own life.

What a wonderful analogy! I loved college enough to get 8 Masters' degrees and Ph.D. classes were pure joy, so I hope you enjoy life that much, too, as I do!

I'm terribly sorry for your loss... You have my condolences. Something I regret doing is telling one of my brother's biggest secrets to someone who should have never learned about it. He never found out that I told on him, but I still can't get over the fact that I betrayed his trust. Even though my brother never found out, God still knows what I did; and somehow that makes me even sadder.

i'm sorry about your mothers passing but i don't think you have anything to be ashamed about. it was your freedom of choice to go to another country.

Hi elmiko No I don't feel ashame but I feel extremely sad that I didn't enjoy my mom. I was very close to her but at age 36 I left with my husband. She was my best friend. I know she is with the Lord and happy but now that I'm old I believe separating from her was a loss of wonderful sharing moments.

I think this is something we all have in common (regret). I did something about 8 years ago that has affected my healthy and now im paying for it. But even tho times get hard im still struggling to get better and I never lose hope. You should always hope for the best, and never give up.
