what is your favorite old time weapon and why?

what i mean is oooolllld weapons not guns tho if your really in love with a certain one you can mention it too but what i really want to hear is stuff like katanas and large bludgeoning devices. like my absolute favorite weapon is a scythe i think thier so fun and what a reach XD. i also like katanas because of the workmanship and history behind them and the claymore because of sheer power so now its your turn im looking foward to wonderful responses :)

yes a sling shot is quite dangerous but very fun and useful as it takes very little space. and they are also light weight for easy carrying tho their accuracy is entirely based on the user as is any other weapon.
