Should we ban internet slang in News and Formal documents?

Internet slang such as "dinosaurs",for ugly women,and "PK",for competition,are now fobidden in Shanghai's official documents,news broadcasts and textbooks.The public hold different views on the regulation.What's your opinion?

hi vincyk I just hate hearing slang terms like dinosaurs for ugly women, who needs that. it should be banned in news, in formal documents and in all usage as its unkind and uncivilized too. That is the ugliest term I have heard for so called ugly women, if they have to do that then get one for ugly men too,or do all men think they are so darned gorgeous? No we should use civilezed words in all our speech informal and formal.
