Inmates getting compensation for giving up drugs?

This has been a big news topic in the UK today. A number of prison inmates have been awarded compensation for having been 'forced' to give up drugs when they went to prison for serious offences. What do you think about this? Do convicted felons have a right to keep taking drugs whilst inside?
