Ghost Hunter!

I just got offered a probationary investigator position with the Paranormal Group in my state. I am so excited! I have wanted to do this for a long time. I have always been interested in the other side and the energy connected to the afterlife. My first hunt is next Saturday night! I am sure people feel mixed about this sort of thing and am very curious about your honest take on this. Please let me know what your thoughts are on my new endeavor.

If you enjoy what you do, you'll never have to work another day. If this is something you like and are interested in, I think it's great. Personally, I see things but I don't wanna investigate hehe. I think I'll just scare myself even more.

You are so right! I wish this was a paying opportunity but hopefully it is just the start of me fulfilling my dreams and yes, I will never have to work another day in my life. I wonder if I might scare myself. It is a great way to find out though I guess. Do you have any good story's of things you have seen?

Thanks for sharing rg! That is such an amazing story. I wonder what the history books would say about your house. I really think if you open yourself up you become a receptor of sorts. It is so exciting for me. A little volunteer work for now doing a hobby I have had for a long time. I am looking forward to it.

Actually, I have quite a lot of them. It sort of runs in the family. You'd think we were either capable of seeing "spirits" or we're a family of loony bins because my brother, along with our mother are able to see some pretty weird things. Well, for example, over generations, my mother's relatives (including her) have been seeing this huge black dog on our farm. It's a black dog, the size of a calf with red eyes. Now, it's strange because how is it possible that my grandpa (Mother's Dad), my Mom and her siblings, and some of my cousins (children of mom's siblings), have seen that very same dog over the years? That's got to be a span of over 40 years! It would appear and just suddenly disappear when they'd try and chase it down. Normally, the animals on the farm would stir up and get pretty agitated so they knew whenever that thing would be around. It's weird... I've experienced many strange phenomenons and I'm only 23. Creeps me out, so I try and no dabble too much in it. I hope this is a start for you to achieve your goals and I wish you the best :-) If it's something you love, go and pursue it

Hi, jodylee! I used to watch Ghost Hunters on t.v., but right now i have no way to watch the show. My husband and i are looking into a way to fix that for us. I am looking forward to being able to get caught up on the show, and i think some of the ones i have watched have been fantastic. I would really enjoy being able to keep up with how things are working out for you in this. Looking forward to seeing more about your progress.

I hope you and your husband can remedy that soon! It is a great show. I watch it every now and again. I will be sure to keep you updated as I experience this new path. I am so looking forward to next weekend! My first one should be exciting. It sounds like it is a large area because the whole team is going out to investigate.

Have you seen a ghost? what do they look like? can they talk? How does it feel to interact with them? sorry for these questions but these are the common questions that people normally ask. It would be nice if you can update us all here in mylot so we can at least have a glimpse of the paranormal. Cheers!

I have only personally seen my father and my grandfather. I have seen spirits (I think) that were more smoke like. My father and my grandfather have both come to me. My father more so. My oldest son has talked about my father many times. He knows many things about his grandfather that I cannot understand how he would know. He is only three years old and told me that his grandfather used to bale cardboard. My father owned a recycling center when he was alive. My father also passed away nearly 10 years before my son was born. Yes, they can talk. You can catch them sometimes with your own ears and also with tape recorders. There are many ways intelligent spirits try to contact us. I will be posting another discussion about my recent experience while on my first ghost hunt. Please check it out!

You can do whatever you like as long as the job does not bother people. You also can do things that are rarely done by the people and will make a very interesting experience.

I agree, when it is done rarely it gives a much needed element of excitement.

Do you mind a question? Are you getting paid for that?

No, it is completely voluntary. It is just a group of people who get together a couple of times a month to investigate.

I really thing ghosts don't exist, and any other paronormal phaenomena. I believe in science, and i am not supersticious. But anyway, good luck with your job and have fun :)

If you believe in science then where does the energy go from the deceased body? The First Law of Thermodynamics says that energy under normal conditions cannot be created or destroyed, simply transformed from one type of energy to another.

So what happened on your probation? I'm a big fan but don't remember names or faces. I love this program and just started a discussion about it.

Hi Jodylee, I think its awesome. I have watch a series on tv, headed by a group of students from PennState that went and investigated paranormal activity. They try to do it with the most scientific way possible and it is extremely interesting. I would also be one of your respondees in asking you to keep us updated. There is another show that is called Extreme paranormal activity, or something like that, I watched one episode of that and it seemed credible but the people who were doing the investigating, I think it was three guys, seemed a little over the top. They were at an old prison, and I just can't remember where. It's hard to watch it on tv and think if the reactions of the individuals are true to form or if they are angling for ratings. Which is why it will be so interesting to read about your experiences. Do you know where your first site will be? I think its wonderful that you can explore this interest of yours. Good luck and er, good hunting? Anyway keep us updated!

The group that I am apart of are also using high tech equipment to investigate allegations of paranormal activity. The actual purpose is to try and debunk the reports that people have. I will be posting a discussion soon about my recent ghost hunt... It was a blast and I did have some personal experiences.
