One problem that is so painful to sit on it, really

It's more than a week now that I can't go online and make more posts. Some wonders why or what happened to me and they don't see me often on here. This makes me unproductive even in the office and at home. Well, for over a week now, I am suffering from great pains and I can sit properly. I can't just sit straight for even a minute. I have to keep standing rather than sitting, so I can't concentrate doing what I have to do in front of the computer. I also can't sit properly while driving my motorcycle because I can only sit on the right side. The problem started with just a simple itchy sensation at one side of my buttocks. On the next day, it swells and turned out to be a pimple, as what I thought it was. Later on, it grew so big and as of this moment, its size is about 2 inches (about 60mm). This is really, really painful and embarrassing. I am taking antibacterial for 5 days now. I thought it will get smaller and later on will disappear. But it didn't. Today, it's still there and still have the pains, so I thought of going to my doctor to check it and if it can be removed now. I really want to move normally, again, so I can work, sit, walk, the way I should be, normally. But the problem now that I have is, I have no money to pay for the doctor's fees. Too bad. So, I will just ask help from you, my dear mylot friends, any suggestions to treat this. Anyone of you have this kind of problem or have you had things like this in the past? By the way, I have read something about "boils", "furuncles", "carbuncles" and "pigsa" (in filipino language. Can you add some ideas about these skin problems?

I don't know if that is " matag tiki" in bisaya, I had b4 and same, can't sit properly....It's painful and it was so red.... I applied herbal leaf, "cactus.....it helps in a while but after a week or two, another will pup up in the same part of my body closer to the previous location.....I was pissed off and tried to sit hard on it, until it bleeds and after those, it didn't appear anymore! I am not sure if you got the same but just try to find cactus and place it on the area affected!

They say "matag-tiki" is different as this one has no "eye" so no part can be said that will be where the pus will go out. And "matag-tiki" is smaller. I am not also sure about this. (are you a bisaya, che?) The one you had, before you sit hard on it, does it have an "eye" or you had plucked or pinched a needle on it? But that really hurts, you really had sat hard on it? Ouch! I already tried "koyo" and gumamela flowers, but nothing happened. I think we have cactus here. I will try this too. Thanks.

I am very bisaya....hehehe! Mine has no eye on it, it was just a bulging thing, so red and so painful...Though it has little whole in the middle where blood and " nana" ( I do know what's nana in english) will pass through... I was really mad on it since it keeps coming back so each day in my class b4, I will intentionally sit on it, press it hard until it bleeds and bleeds,,,,after those, it didn't appear again... Make sure to "dukduk" the cactus...Let's try if it works!

Yeah, let's see what happens with cactus... So you're really is? Me is from Bulacan but over 15 years now that I am here in Cebu. And where in the Visayas you are, Che?

If it's painful, chances are you might be having a pus. Does it bleed? One temporary solution is to get a thick bandage, cut it just nice for the size of the pimple and plaster it over gently. Make the cloth-like into a thick one so when you sit down, you won't feel the direct pain. It's some sort like cushioned over. You can also try to place your laptop (if you are using one) on the bed and lie face down and type. If you feel sore, stand up and continue again. Hope the swelling goes down. I think it might be an infection too..

I don't know.. if it's not infection..how about allergy? Do you have any, Neil??

This might be an infection, of what? As I have said, I have been taking antibiotics for 5 days now. This will be healed fast and by this time, this could be gone, if only there's an "eye", as they say, but there's none, so there's no way to drain the pus. You know, like what I've said, if I only have money to pay for the doctor's fees, I will never let this thing stay longer. I really want to get rid of this now. There's actually no problem when I am home, as I can always go to bed, lay down, get my mobile phone and go online on here. But if I go to office, I can only stand, and sit on one side of my butt. And I can't drive properly as well, as it needs normal sitting position.

My friend sorry to hear that! You know I have a sister who is also suffering same way as you do. She is a cancer survivor and most of the time when her body is lacking in vitamin C, those pigsa we call in tagalog will come out on her buttocks and even on her genitals. Our solution is always natural approach because the she was treated by natural healing from her cancer. The most effective cure for her is taking megadosage of Fern C. Fern C is a natural sodium ascorbate and taking mega dosage will not in anyway give bad side effects. The doctor is the one who recommended that. She takes 30 capsules of Fern-C each day, that is 10 in the morning, 10 in the afternoon, and 10 in the evening. The she also takes malunggay capsule, 3 in the morning, 3 in the afternoon and 3 in the evening. For a cheaper alternative, you can just take the fresh malunggay leaves in your backyard and make a malunggay juice using your blender. The procedure of making malunggay juice is found in the internet. It is very, very effective for those lacking in nutrients that leads to skin problems like pigsa. My sister also eats lots of saluyot which is one good treatment for pigsa. I don't know if this will work for you but it has been really effective to my sister. You can try doing it if you want. If you find Fern C too expensive as this is P750 per 100 capsules then just drink plenty of malunggay juice and also apply the juice and leave of saluyot directly on the pigsa as what my sister is doing. Hope you get well soon.

I wonder why I lack Vitamin C as what others say, since I love malunggay and we frequently use it with the food we eat. But anyway, I will try the juice too. Doesn't it taste bitter? LOL I really think I would go with malunggay juice as I don't think I can afford Fern C. By applying saluyot leaves and juice to pigsa will help the pus come out, when there is no "eye" when it should pass through? Or will just stop getting pigsa to get bigger?

Malunggay is called a miracle vegetable because on its own it is is packed with an unbelievable amount of nutrients seven times the vitamin C found in oranges, four times the vitamin A found in carrots, four times the calcium found in milk, three times the potassium found in bananas, and two times the protein found in yogurt. But the reason why we can't absorb all these nutrients in our body even if we frequently add malunggay in our viands is because we tend to overcook malunggay and in the process we destroy the nutrient. And besides just adding it to our viand will not give us much of its nutrients than when we are drinking its concentrated juice alone. Yes indeed it taste bitter and you can overcome by just closing your nose and swallowing the juice immediately. You know it will also help maintain good skin texture. Saluyot promotes the pigsa to ripen at once according to users and thereby pus can be easily removed. Try it and also you can also drink juice of saluyot just like japanese are doing to promote healthy skin.

What you most likely have is an infection. Don't worry. Whenever I have one of these, I take a small needle and poke the side of it, so I can carefully squeeze out the germs and icky green stuff inside. After clearing all of it from the infected area, I wash out the area and put on some antibacterial and put a band-aid around it. I suggest you do the same. After putting on the band-aid, you most likely have to wait a few days before it starts to get better. If anything else comes up, let us know. I'm happy to help =)

Hi neildc, you poor thing, that sounds really bad and to not be able to afford to pay a doctor. I don't know if your pharmacies are anything like in the west but often the pharmacists will know what to give you without involving a doctor. Is there no medical help at all for those who cannot pay? What if it was one of your children? I thought the right to health care was free at some point to most people. I hope you get rid of it soon and you can sit down with us again.

there are really times we could say, that people without money will die early because of money. because he has no money. i just can't explain well, but here in our place, sorry to say, that you really have to have money to avail of proper hospitalization. it is really sad to think, that if this will happen to our kids... anyway, i think the situation will be a lot different if this will happen to one of my kids.

I didn't know that pigsa would be that serious that you would need to have it removed by a doctor. My cousin had one before a very big one with eye... (swelling red), and her mother just cleanse it with hydrogen peroxide (the one use for cleaning wounds) and it was effective, days after applying that regularly, the pigsa was gone. Do not move it and try to avoid your pigsa being moved.. Keep it always clean and dry.

that would not be that serious, i guess, if it is not on that part, but it is. it couldn't be that serious, if it is not this big, but it is. by this time, i am trying herbal medication and taking antibiotics, as suggested by some friends...

I hope you get well soon. I hope that pigsa of yours will responds to your herbal medications. Avoid sitting down for hours... Do not sit on hard chairs, better put pillow or anything soft on the chair.

Oh I read through your discussion and your comments and I was hoping at the end to find a follow up from you on what happened. Did it go away on its own? Did you have to have surjery? That sounds terrible one of that size where is it making it so hard to sit down. I have a small boil on my arm in the crease of the inside of my elbow. I was surprised at how badly it hurts. It was on my arm for a few weeks I believe and yesterday it came to a head. I squeezed it a tiny bit and got a tiny puss out of it but I dont know if its going to go away or not. I hate it.

We have a herbal/medicinal book here titles "The Healing Wonders of Herbs" and this is what it says about boils and abscesses. Water Treatments: 1. Hot compress for 30 minutes, 2 times a day until the abscess or boil has ripened. 2. Hot sitz bath for 30 minutes, 2 times a day if abscess or boil is on or around the rectal and perineal area. Herbal Medications: 1. Alugbati leaves poultice - crush 2 leaves. Apply as poultice, 2 times a day. 2. Amarillo leaves poultice - crush 3 leaves and 2 flowers. Apply as poultice, 2 times a day. 3. Gumamela leaves and flowers poultice - chop 5 leaves and 2 flowers. Apply directly on abscess or boil as poultice, 2 times a day. 4. Langka juice or sap (milky juice from the tree trunk) compress - get the milky juice from the trunk and mix with a little vinegar. Warm the mixture and use it for hot compress. Use small pieces of clean cloth or gauze as compress. Apply for 20 minutes, 2 times a day. 5. Sambang leaves poultice - chop 5 fresh leaves. Apply directly as poultice, 2 times a day. 6. Charcoal poultice - chop or powder charcoal, then wet with water and wrap in a handkerchief or a clean piece of cloth. Apply directly as poultice, 2 times a day. It really is too sad if we don't have money for proper treatments. But herbal and medicinal plants works too. This practice has been around for a long time, and even before there was proper medicine people have been using plants to cure themselves.

At this time, I am trying herbal medication number 3, which is gumamela poultice. This is the most common in our place and I remember when my wife also used gumamela with a boil that I had before. Maybe, I just forgot about this since it was a long time ago. I am also taking some antibiotics which another friend had suggested. thanks...

neildc you have an infection and you must have it opened and drained. also you must be on antibiotics so you need to get help from some close relative to borrow e nough money to get treated and do it as soon as possible. you could very easily get blood poisoning and even die from this infection. the pain should tell you you have to have medical help ,borrow money and get taken care of please, then let us know how you fared. this is serious, I cannot empathize how serious. I used to work in the medical profession so I do know about this.

i know this is something serious and i don't want to take this for granted. the pain is really annoying. but as of this time, i really can't find someone here to ask for money. i actually had one before. that one is worse as it was on the face, right beside or below the eye. that too was so embarrassing. i had the doctor opened and drained it. at that time, i can say i have no big problems with money, so i got fine. but now, almost eveybody is in deep financial problem so i can't go to relatives and borrow. the only one that will let me lend some cash is the lending guy who ask a big amount of interest too. if i can do this at home, i will treat this with wife's help.

Oh my poor best. How I wish I could be there to comfort you. Hope you're okay now. I'm so grateful that I haven't had this kind of irritation/infection. But whenever my sons have this I consult first the doctor and if it doesn't work, I rely on herbal medicines. Why don't you try this, I've come across this from a herbal medicine book that my mom bought for our library. * Calendula - It is used as a herbal remedy for the treatment of boils. It can be used in herbal form or in low dilution. * Propolis - It is widely used for the treatment of boils. It has many antibiotic properties which help prevent infection. * Hepar Sulphuris Calcareum - When a boil is extremely tender and sensitive to touch, this remedy can be very helpful for the person. A person who needs this remedy usually is vulnerable and touchy, with extreme sensitivity to cold. * Onion - Onion, when boiled, mashed and used as a poultice - works as a very good remedy. * Burdock Root - It has antibiotic properties which helps to clear toxins. * GoldenSeal - It is helpful for staph infections. Haven't tried this one yet but hope it could help. HUGZ always best..Miss you...get well soon...

Hi best, miss you too. I hope you feel fine now. Me, still fighting this little thing under my butt. LOL best, if only i can stay at home and always be on the bed. With the names you stated, only onions is known to me. I don't know about the others, specially the Hepar Sulphuris Calcareum, LOL. The others suggested gumamela and we also have plenty of them here. So by this time, I am trying this together with regular intake of antibiotics. I really wish I get better soon. Thanks best.

if this is just pimple, squeezing might be easy to do. but this is no ordinary pimple and this is so big and so painful. squeezing alone is not possible because there is no hole or an "eye" to where the pus will find its way out. this i think needs to be cut, ouch...

This really hurts Letran and I really really want to get rid of this the soonest possible time. One thing about this is I can't sit properly so I am afraid to get an accident when I drive... Kneeling I guess would be fine if at home but not in the office. My work deals with service to the public so it will be funny for them to see me on my knees talking, dealing with them.
