Many of classmates want to return to their hometown or a city not far from the place where they grow up to work after their graduation. So that it is more convenient for them to visit their relative or their friends. And they are more familiar with the climate or life style near their hometown. While others would choose to work far away to broaden their horizon and get to know more about the outside world. So which do you prefer?

I prefer working near home. That's because I'm already sick and tired of working far from home. I mean, even before when I was still studying, our house was always far. We don't own a house and we were just renting and my family would always want to live in the southern part of my hometown where there were lesser schools and very few companies. My school was in the eastern part and we don't have a private transportation so I had to take the public utility vehicle (PUV) twice before reaching school. And it takes about an hour to get there. Worse, when I graduated, the job that I found was in the northern part, and so I'd have to take the PUV, not twice, but thrice. During those years of studying and working I'd wake up every single day at 5:00 AM, get out of the house not later than 6:30 AM or else I'd get stuck in the rush hour. Then arrive at school or work very early (about an hour before school/shift starts). After school/work hours, I get to wrestle with all the rest of the commuters just to get a ride and then, take the very long, boring and tiring journey back home. Two hours later, I would arrive home very tired, hungry and grumpy. Then I would do my homework or some studying or in the case when I was working, I would hit the computer and find whatever entertaining I could find there. For all the years in my schooling and working days I never get to have enough sleep and was always deprived of relaxation. I guess that's the reason why I was always so cranky back then. So that's why I want a job that's near our house or a house that's near work. With that I can relax more and find more time for myself and my family :)

i always prefer working away from were a grow up, like you said, working away from your hometown broaden you horizon, that's exactly true, ever since i'd experience many things and meet a lot of new people/culture, if i wouldn't work away from my hometown maybe i wouldn't meet my wife now...

Hi sunshineyunlong, the time when I was young and just after the graduation I was lifeful and soulful as well as eager to learn whatever which I'm not familiar with. There were lots of things which I wished to learn out of my great curiosity. You know it's so nice and relaxing as well I was no longer to live under my parents "surveillance" often After I have become a mom I prefer to work at my hometown. It's so convenient for me to take care of my kid after office hours. My parents loved my kid and I feel at ease to have them to babysit him. I don't trust any babysitter at all. Further more I really enjoy harmonious family life together with my loving parents, husband and son Have a nice day

I prefer to work near my home town. So I can stay with my family. I am happy when I am with them so I think I will be very sad If I will going to work in a place which is far away from them.

Ya working in the home town woul be more convenient but when a job with more salary in a far away place would be preferred by me bcoz we can visit our home town our relatives, friens and family during our vacation and whenever we want but money does not come whenever we wnat. So i prefer the job with more money wherever it is.... Have a nice day... Regards yaashmin

That doesn't really matter, I'm a person who likes changes in life. So for work I'd like a job where I'm always on the move, not more than a week in a city. I'm attached to my friends but I can live without them, there's so many ways to keep i touch with them other then letters!

Since I'm attached to my family a lot.I'd choose to work somewhere near my family or my hometown. Being familiar is also my security blanket. However, there are times that I want to be adventurous and I think of working somewhere far.
