I don't think there is a problem posting in all lower case but i know it's stated in the guidelines to minimize using ALL CAPITALS. When I make my posts, I don't care about using capitalization, I mean, sometimes I do not use upper, only lower cases. But do not use all upper case.

upper case really gives the impression that other one is yelling at us!!

I rarely read anything that does not use capital letters in the correct places. As a writer, I find it distracting and automatically assume the post will be of little interest. That may sound snobbish, but it comes from a manager for whom I once worked. If he received a piece of mail with his name spelled incorrectly, he returned it to sender with a note on the outside. The note read "No one by this name is at this address, however, a Mr. Sommers is here." Rarely did he get a second piece of mail from the same place with his name misspelled twice. He believed if the sender really had something important to say, they would make the effort to address him correctly. I believe if someone has something important to say, they make it as attractive as possible to catch the reader's attention.

I type the way I was taught in school, with the correct punctuation, and with the least mistakes as possible!

I am the same way. I cringe when I see written work that does not use any rules of punctuation, pays no attention to spelling, and is generally just sloppy. I have seen applications for employment that were filled out with that same methodology. I will not hire that person unless there is nobody else available.

I type just like I always do which it to type according to correct case, I am not sure but it is just something I do off hand even if I am in a hurry. It's not like I try to do it it just happens, like what I am typing right now this is how I type and I always have I don't think I could stop even If I tried. It would be kinda hard for me to type any other way then the way I always have, I wonder if any one else dose the same thing as me or can they just change it up every once in a while. I also wonder if some people took class to learn to type or did they just start doing it just like me.

Hello there, For me it's important to write properly. So I would write in lower case but when there's a full stop or something like that, I would start the word of with a capital. Besides, we get paid at mylot for writing out quality posts, and not writing out properly isn't really considered as quality. You actually made me think of something, as to why we have lower case and upper case letters. Why do we always have to have a capital after a full stop? Why was that so important and who made it like that? Something very interesting!

Hi, Bluray! In my opinion, it is much better to type properly because sometimes what you are trying to convey can be misunderstood by the other party. There was one time a friend of mine was typing using the upper case and someone asked him why he was yelling. He just explained that the Caps Lock was on and he didn't mean to yell.

Yes, I always take care to write in the correct case and with correct puncuation. It's just a habbit that comes about, I don't even think about it when im typing it! I believe that it makes ones writing more presentable and easier to read. I hate reading writing that is in "text speech".

I still type the way I learned when people still used Underwood typewriters. I also use proper grammar and sentence structure as per my English classes. Having said this, I think there is a fundamental change in the way people speak and write these days. Just as we no longer say thee, thou and thy as they did in the 18th and 19th century, I think technology is changing our language again. With the advent of cell phones and computers, we now email, blog, tweet, etc. Everything in society has sped up. If you don't believe me, listen to how fast people speak on news programs like Today and Good Morning America. It's almost to fast to follow. People simply no longer have or take the time to use proper 20th century English. In the 21st century, words are abbreviated, text is abbreviated. Unless communication is case sensitive, it is either written in all lower case or all upper case. (I personally print in all upper case letters. I don't even know how to print in upper an lower case any more). I truly believe that when the millennium generation reach their 30s and 40s, it will be difficult to recognize the English language for what it is now.

In most cases, it doesn't really matter whether you type in correct case but it sure does mean a lot to the readers.

hello ... i always type in lower case, it's more stylish & easier. i do often use CAPS, when i want to accentuate the meaning or feeling, or mostly for some names. as long as people can read it's OK, still lately i tend to make a lot of mistakes because i lack some good sleep... hehe! cheers!

It depends on my schedule if I am in a hurry I do not worry about it. I do always make sure that my typing is not all caps as online when you type with all caps it means your yelling and no one likes a yeller...

Well, I mostly take care of my upper and lower case characters in Mylot. There are exceptions at times. Still I try to keep them very very less.

During typing response in mylot, I have formed a habit of switching between upper case and lower case. Yes, usually, I take care to type according to correct case indeed because I hate the mistakes in my responses. Even if I am in a hurry, I will be careful when typing posts in case there are some errors in my responses. In my opinion, it is a more polite action to type properly and then others can understand our answers easily. Happy mtLotting!

no. i don't care the matter of upper case and lower case, while i type discussion or response at mylot. because i heard that, there is not any recommendation from mylot authority.if mylot authority recommend anything like to maintain upper case and lower case matter, then off course i would be willing to follow their rules. i saw maximum mylot member are using to type lower case, so i prefer lower case always and used to type every word by lower case.
