i never thought i could see fireflies again! when i went outside the house to get some fresh air i saw some light under a San Francisco shrub. i was at first hesitant to go near. i thought it was just a small light from a keychain but as i went near, there were two fireflies. i have seen them 8 years ago in the university where i attended college. how about you?when was the last time you saw fireflies?

Having fireflies in a place means the place is not polluted very much and seeing fireflies in your place should be good news. Last year, when I went to province and visited my aunts, there, I saw many fireflies and the scene is just magical. Back in the city where I live, I cannot see such things anymore because their habitat is already replaced with high-rise building and noisy cars.

When I was young, in my hometown, the fireflies often appeared on a summer night under the hot and steamy climate.
Now, with the development of the society, it is difficult to see some and I am dreaming of seeing one again. I remember that catching butterfies was a common fun during my childhood. Although nowadays, I have realized that it is a wrong action to catch them for fun, the experience when seeing these lovely fireflies is very imposing on a summer night.
I guess I have no chances to see them any more.

Wow! Don’t you just love watching fireflies and the patterns they make? I remember in our childhood, there was a huge unkempt garden behind our house that belonged to our neighbours. They did not take much care of it and the entire area was covered in weeds and shrubs and tall trees…one advantage of that was we were always surrounded by greenery and in every season, we could see nature at very close quarters. The garden was also home to a lot many birds which are otherwise not seen in cities…and then we had the fireflies! On any given night, there would at least be six to eight of them, dancing their way in the darkness. Mom and I used to stay up together and count them and then try and trace them and at the end we both become so confused and started laughing!
I miss fireflies…the city has grown so much and the concrete jungle was overlapped the greenery!

yes i really love them that's why i was just that great seeing them. when we were young we used to have them as captives. Catching fireflies is a fun summer activity for children, who may enjoy holding the insects in their hands and keeping them in a jar to watch them glow through the night.
